About the Artist Kula Kei Uluivuya is a Fijian music band based in Fiji. Viliame Cokanauto is the lead singer for the Band. Kula Kei Uluivuya is derived from the traditional bird of the Vuya people in the province of Bua, thus Kula Kei Uluivuya in English this means the Kula bird of Uluivuya. Uluivuya being the tall hill over looking Vuya, Navave, Nabouwalu and all the other nearby villagers. Viliame Cokanauto started Kula Kei Uluivuya when he was 19 years old with his uncle Ifereimi Draunimasi, and Tu Jo a close family friend from Wailea in Vatuwaqa. Initially they did birthday gigs, through sigidrigi. Months later, Kula Kei Uluivuya was introduced to the University of the South Pacific through a talent show where Viliame called in Luke Rogocake and Steven Wormack to join him under the K.K.U label. Soon after this show Kula Kei Uluivuya recorded their debut album that produced their smash hit ‘Tagimoucia’. Their first album produced by Solomon Islands Musical Artist and Producer Young Davie was a success as ‘Tagimoucia’ earned KKU the awards for Best New Artist Award and Most Popular Song at their first FPRA Music Awards dubbed as Fiji’s Biggest Night in Music. Kula Kei Uluivuya (KKU) with their 2018 Hit single ‘Raijieli’ were the subject of a viral social media challenge called the #RaijieliChallenge with the official music video gaining over 170,000 views on their YouTube channel. KKU also has bi-lingual hits like ‘Lewa Mo Nanuma’ featuring Solomon Island rapper Young Davie which has earned him a nomination and a win at the 2019 FPRA Music Awards in the Most Popular Music Video category.
About the Music Kula Kei Uluivuya released their debut album ‘Tagimoucia’ in 2013 and since then have released a total of 4 albums.
