Brooke Boyer Born: July 2, 1996 Residence: Johnston, IA
Brooke Boyer has been riding for seven years and has earned several equestrian titles. Her titles include the 2009 UPHA Junior Challenge Cup Top Ten, 2010 UPHA Junior Challenge Cup Reserve Champion, 2011 National Horse Show Saddle Seat “Good Hands” Finals Top Ten, and the 2011 USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Top Ten. Boyer’s current horse is He’s Heaven Sent, whom she shows in Saddle Seat Equitation. Her favorite horses include He’s Heaven Sent and The Crowd Favorite. Boyer is a sophomore at Johnston High School.

Emily Chapman Born: May 31, 1994 Residence: Tucson, AZ
Emily Chapman has been riding for eight years and has earned multiple equestrian titles, including the 2008 UPHA Junior Challenge Cup Top Ten, 2011 UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Top Ten, 2011 National Pleasure Equitation Olympics Top Ten, 2011 UPHA Senior Challenge Cup Top Ten, 2011 USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Top Ten, 2011 Saddle Seat Invitational Team Gold medalist, 2012 AHSA National Pleasure Equitation Champion, 2012 Pleasure Equitation Medallion Senior Finals Reserve Champion, and 2012 USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Top Ten. Her current show horses are My One Night Stand, whom she shows in Senior Pleasure Equitation, and Show Material whom she shows in the Juvenile Three-Gaited division. Chapman’s favorite horse that she has owned is CHTimeless Drifter. Brooke Jacobs
Born: December 1, 1980 Residence: Georgetown, KY Brooke Jacobs has been riding her entire life and has accumulated a vast list of equestrian titles. Her titles include the 2011 UPHA Adult Challenge Cup Grand Champion, 2011 UPHA Five-Gaited Horsemanship National Champion, 2006 & 2008 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final National Champion, 2002 & 2008 National Pleasure Equitation Olympics Adult Gold Medalist, 2005 Saddle and Bridle Five-Gaited Horsemanship National Champion, and 2004 UPHA Adult Challenge Cup Grand Champion. She was also a member on the 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008 Saddle Seat World Cup Teams. Jacobs is currently showing CHRecoup in the Park Pleasure division, A Holiday Affair in the Five-Gaited division, and Mahalo in the Hackney Pony Pleasure Driving division. Her favorite horses include CHRamses and CHBright Lights RWF.

Alexandra Lawson Born: July 12, 1993 Residence: North Salem, IN
Alexandra Lawson has been riding for 11 years. Some of Lawson’s titles include the 2011 World’s Champion 17-Year-Old Saddle Seat Equitation, 2011 USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Champion, 2011 UPHA Senior Challenge Cup Reserve Champion, 2011 National Pleasure Equitation Olympics Gold Medalist, 2010 American Royal Saddle Seat Equitation National Champion, and 2010 Reserve World’s Champion 16-Year-Old Saddle Seat Equitation. Lawson’s current horse is Brookhill’s Fame, whom she shows in the Five-Gaited division. Her favorite horse she has had the privilege of showing is Imagine My Surprise. Lawson is a freshman at Purdue University. While in

Abigail Mutrux Born: May 26, 1995 Residence: St. Louis, MO Team Captain Abigail Mutrux has been riding for 12 years. Some of Mutrux’s equestrian highlights include five World’s and Reserve World’s Championship titles, and seven Equitation National Championship titles. In 2008 she was the UPHA Junior Pleasure Challenge Cup Grand Champion, and in 2010 she was the UPHA Senior Pleasure Challenge Cup Grand Champion. In 2012, she was the UPHA Senior Challenge Cup Grand Champion and USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Reserve Champion. Mutrux’s current horse is Lemon Shake Up, whom she shows in Senior Saddle Seat Equitation. Mutrux has been fortunate to own many horses, all which have had a

special place in her heart. Mutrux is a junior at University City High School. In addition to riding saddle seat, she enjoys fox hunting and has been awarded her junior colors. When not showing horses, Mutrux enjoys playing soccer and field hockey for her high school, participating in recreational sports with friends, and relaxing.

Kristen Smith
Born: May 15, 1993 Residence: Crestwood, KY alternate Kristen Smith has been riding for 12 years. Kristen Cater
Born: September 30, 1977 Residence: Dunbarton, NH coach Kristen Cater worked alongside Lisa Jensen Richardson at Cricket Hill Farm when she was 17. Cater assisted Richardson in training World Champion equitation riders such as Kyle Gagnon and Kaitlin McGowan, and was named Equitation Instructor of the Year for three consecutive years. After training Morgans, Cater switched to the Saddlebred industry where she opened up Cater Stables with her husband David. They have matched several riders and horses that have won World Championships including Maggie and Clara McCool and Caroline Rose. Cater holds judges’ cards for Saddle Seat Equitation, Saddlebred, Hackney Harness Pony, and Roadster divisions. She has been the UPHA Chapter 14 Chairman for four years and most recently was asked to be on the UPHA National Equitation Committee.

Cindy Mugnier
Born: December 12, 1956 Residence: Belchertown, MA coach Cindy Mugnier owns and operates a training stable out of Fox Meadow Farm in Massachusetts. She is also a USEF judge and current committee member of the USEF Morgan, Saddle Seat Equitation, and Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup Committees. Mugnier has served on previous World Cup selection committees

and has trained many State, Regional, National, and World Championship riders. She coached the Morgan International Equestrian Team at the 2009 Saddle Seat Team Morgan. Mugnier was the recipient of the 2007 AMHA Cecil Brown Sportsmanship Award, Massachusetts Morgan Horse Association Woman of the Year, UPHA Chapter 14 Horseperson of the Year, 2010 UPHA Chapter 14 Lifetime Achievement Award, and is a member of the UPHA Chapter 14 Hall of Fame. She is the current Director and past President of the American Morgan Horse Association.

Hunter Chancellor has spent much of her life in the saddle and has already garnered an impressive amount of success at a young age. Chancellor began riding at the age of two and quickly found success in the show ring. Chancellor was the 2008 & 2011 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited World’s Champion of Champions, 2008, 2009, & 2011 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited National Champion, 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited World’s Champion, 2010 World’s Champion 17 & Under Saddle Seat Equitation, 2010 and 2011 USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final Reserve Champion, 2011 UPHA Senior Challenge Cup National Champion, 2012 National Horse Show Saddle Seat “Good Hands” Finals Champion, and 2012

Chancellor’s favorite horses include the four she is currently showing whose barn names are Tonto, Dreamy, Leo, and Button.

She says Tonto is the most fun to ride but she loves all her horses. Chancellor is a junior at Mater Del High School where she is ranked third in her class, has a 3.99 GPA, and is on the high Honor Roll. When she is not competing, Chancellor enjoys reading, spending time with friends, hunting, traveling, and working with Horses Against Hunger.

Angela Darrow Born: October 9, 1991 Residence: Hartland, WI
Angela Darrow has been riding for 12 years and has earned titles such as the 2010 Ladies Amateur Five-Gaited World’s Championship Top Three, 2009 American Royal Saddle Seat Equitation 16-17 Champion, 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited 14-17 World’s Champion, 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited 14-17 Reserve World’s Champion of Champions, and 2009 U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Three-Gaited Team Alternate. Darrow’s favorite and most recent horse is Freaky Links, whom she showed in the Amateur Five-Gaited division. Drew Taylor Hewitt Born: March 29, 1995 Residence: Bermuda Run, NC Drew Taylor Hewitt has been riding for 13 years, earning multiple equestrian awards and titles. In recognition of her sportsmanship, she received the American Saddlebred Horse Association’s 2011 Frank Ogletree Youth Award. Hewitt has also earned many titles in the show ring including being the 2009 Lexington Junior League Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Pleasure Champion, 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Show Pleasure 14-17 World’s Champion of Champions and World’s Champion, and the 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Show Pleasure National Champion, making Hewitt the 2009 Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Show Pleasure Triple Crown Winner. Born: September 17, 1989 Residence: Louisville, KY Ali Judah has been riding for 14 years and has earned 20 World’s Championships and Reserve World’s Championships, two National Championships, and multiple Reserve National Championships. Judah was a member of the 2010 Silver Medal Five-Gaited World Cup Team and the 2006 Gold Medal Five-Gaited World Cup Team. Her current show horse is Reedann’s Whodunnit for the Three-Gaited Show Pleasure division. Judah’s favorite horses have been Riva Diva and Iza Diva. Judah is a graduate of Centre College with a degree in Biology. When not showing horses, she enjoys hiking, hanging out with friends and family, photography, and traveling.

Sandra Currier Born: December 17, 1956 Residence: Belville, TX coach Sandra Currier started riding horses at a young age, but did not start showing horses until her teens, beginning with local hunter/jumper shows. After two years of college, the lure of horses called to Currier and she opened a public training barn, taking on several different breeds and showing across various disciplines. She fell in love with saddle seat and ended up with mostly Morgans, Arabians, and Saddlebreds in her barn. A job offer led her to Texas to work for Bluebonnet Farm, where she has been for the past 20 years. Currier has worked exclusively with Saddlebreds and Hackneys at Bluebonnet Farm, which has bred several World’s and Reserve World’s Champions. Currier has paired many amateur and junior riders and horses who have become World’s and Reserve World’s Champions. In recent years, Currier has judged the Saddle and Bridle Pleasure Medallion Finals and the Saddle and Bridle Western Pleasure Finals along with the Morgan Medal at the Morgan Grand National and World Championship Horse Show.

Brent Jacobs
Born: May 12, 1948 Residence: Georgetown, KY coach Brent Jacobs has been involved with American Saddlebreds since the late 1950’s. He was the nation’s leading boy rider in the early 1960’s under the guidance of Helen Crabtree. Jacobs apprenticed with Don Harris, then opened Werk Way Stables in Georgetown, KY in 1968 where he started and trained many World Champions. In Equitation, he instructed National and World title holders Brooke Jacobs, Andy Jacobs, Martha Bosken, Tori Heck, and Mary Nu. Jacobs is a licensed USEF Judge and has judged the World’s Championship, South Africa’s National Championships, and all of the Equitation finals. He also sits on the USEF Hearing Committee. Jacobs

Lori Nelson
Born: January 9, 1973 Residence: Paris, KY team leader Lori Nelson has been involved in equestrian sports since the age of five when she began riding a Shetland pony named Red. However, her first lessons in saddle seat were on a neighbor’s Saddlebred named Stoney. The beauty of the breed caught Nelson’s attention and her family soon became involved in buying and showing Saddlebreds in the Ohio area under the tutelage of Junior Sullivan. Although Nelson took time off from the sport during high school and college, she vowed to get back to the sport she loved one day. Nelson graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Sociology and a minor in Paralegal Studies. In 2002, Nelson began working in the Regulation Department at the USEF and ultimately serving as Director of the department for several years. In 2009, Nelson was promoted to Assistant Executive Director of National Affiliates, the department which is responsible for 19 of the 27 breeds/disciplines at the USEF. Nelson is also an active rider and competitor in addition to serving as secretary at USEF competitions. She resides in Paris, KY on a small farm with her beloved four dogs, cat, and horse in addition to having a second horse in training.
