Posing awkwardly with your in-laws used to be the heart of wedding photography, until a few years ago. Couple Photoshoot in Mumbai have now taken it upon themselves to capture this once-in-alifetime occasion in a way that reflects their personality. Blending cultural persuasion with artistry, couples now make sure that their wedding day mementos are works of passion packaged in their own right.
We love weddings and the pure passion that goes behind formulating one. But you know what we love more? To capture this pure essence in the most candid of manners, and yes, we have a go to guide for that! Because candid photography is much more than just pointing a camera at people and shooting away to glory.
Here are a few scribbles from the notes we swear by whilst stepping into candid wedding photography: Always being ready – Keeping an eye out for moment’s forms the first and the most important chapter of the book of candid wedding photography. We always keep our camera adjusted according to the light conditions. Other important settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO are pre adjusted so that the entire focus is on the things happening in front of the camera.
2) Going unnoticed - The quintessential ethos of Candid Wedding Photography is the capture the raw emotion of the bride, groom and the guests. These raw, unfiltered emotions can only come out when we as camera people go unnoticed. So how do we capture these emotions? The answer to that question is a ‘Zoom Lens’. We regularly use lenses like a 100mm, 70-200mm or even a 100400mm and allow emotions to come as they may.
3) Changing Perspectives While majority of the images in the end album turn out to be formally posed and could be categorized under fairly ‘normal’. It is imperative to change the perspective when it comes to candid wedding photography. We make sure that we mix things up a little by taking shots from down low, up high, at wide angles etc
4) Planning Ahead Last but not the least, we make it an essential part of our job to foresee what is going to happen next or at least take the best-calculated guess. This helps us to be a step ahead when it comes to capturing candid. Because emotions won’t repeat themselves, so we like to be there when they flow naturally.
