Emily MEET
Class year: 2021 Hometown: Hershey, Pa. Majors: Psychology & International Relations Minors: Neuroscience & Spanish Extracurricular activities: Head Gold Ambassador, Bonner Leader, Bonner Peer Mentor, Melrose Fellow, Overnight Host, Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) Site Coordinator, Wismer on Wheels Treasurer, Manna on Main Street Site Coordinator, Psychology and Spanish Tutor As an Ursinus Bear, I’m a member of a community with endless opportunities. Here, we’re encouraged to try classes from all disciplines, join as many extracurricular activities as we would like, and use the resources on campus to create our own personal experience. This was evident from the first time I set foot on campus. My interview left me feeling confident that I wouldn’t have to compromise when it came to what I wanted in a college, and that I would be challenged to become more than I ever thought possible through my academics and service. Now, three years later, that promise holds true, and I’ve been able to pursue what I’m passionate about both in the classroom and with the activities I’ve chosen on campus. Why should you visit Ursinus? Every member of the Ursinus community cares about you as an individual, and it starts with the people in the admission office. The individualized information sessions and interviews connect you with a specific person on campus you can turn to with any questions. The one-on-one tours give you an opportunity to interact with students and get a feel for the campus as you listen to personal stories and experiences. Finally, the chance to eat lunch in our dining hall and possibly attend classes offers you a glimpse into what life at Ursinus is really like!
When you visit Ursinus, you’ll arrive to the same warm smiles that greeted me, and my hope is, that just like me, you will leave knowing you’ve found your new home!
One-on-One Information Sessions
We start with U and end with us. There’s no more powerful word than “us.” It turns a single person into a team, a passion into a club, an idea into a movement.
You and your family can explore the “bear necessities” of Ursinus College one-on-one with an admission staff member or senior admission fellow. This 30-minute session covers academics, campus life, and the admission process.
Interviews Followed by One-on-One Information Sessions and Campus Tours
Join us.
Beginning May of junior year through February 1, the voluntary admission interview is an opportunity for a member of the admission staff or a senior admission fellow to get to know you beyond your application. Start with a half-hour conversation, followed by a Q&A session for you and your family to ask the questions on your list. Business casual dress is encouraged, and you’re welcome to bring a resume and unofficial transcript.
Fall Open House This is our most comprehensive open house event, as it features representatives from our academic departments who will answer your questions and share what it’s like to be a student in their department. You can also join a special interest session to find out more about student life, outside-the-classroom learning, financial aid basics and the transfer process. Tour our sprawling campus, and learn about the individualized admission and financial aid process.
Spring & Summer Open Houses If you’re ready to start your visits, then these are the events for you! These open house events allow you to see the campus from the inside. You’ll have the chance to sit in on information sessions and panel discussions, tour our state-ofthe-art facilities and tree-lined campus, and walk through the admission and financial aid process with our team.

You’ll hear from our admission and financial aid team, tour campus and learn about our Experiential Learning Project (XLP), a hands-on experience that 100% of Ursinus students complete.
Discover Ursinus At Discover Ursinus, students have the opportunity to sit in during a class to get a sense of what it’s really like to be an Ursinus student. Families also get the chance to learn about our personalized admission and financial aid process during an information session. The day will conclude with lunch and campus tours.
