concept: Haven is located in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, New York. It is a pregnancy wellness and education center in a socially charged neighborhood. This was a group collaboration project of architecture and interior design. The concept of the design was to create a tranquil space for pregnant women and their families to learn and relax, in a space that contrasts its surroundings.

Adagio: A Bookstore for Dancers Rome, Italy Fall 2016 concept: IN BALLET TERMINOLOGY, THE ‘ADAGIO,’ OR ‘ADAGE’ IN FRENCH, IS A SERIES OF SLOW AND GRACEFUL MOVEMENTS PERFORMED WITH FLUIDITY AND EASE. THESE EXERCISES HELP THE DANCER DEVELOP STRENGTH, LINE, AND BALANCE. THIS IS THE IDEA BEHIND THE CONCEPT FOR THIS BOOKSTORE DESIGN. IN ORDER TO CREATE THIS FEELING WITHIN THE SPACE, A SERIES OF METAL MESH RIBBONS FLOW THROUGHOUT THE FOUR FLOORS OF THE BUILDING, CREATING PARTITIONS AND PATHWAYS. THE OUTER SHELL OF FLOOR TO CEILING BOOKCASES CREATE A SENSE OF STRUCTURE, PIERCED BY THE FLUID RIBBONS. THESE DESIGN ELEMENTS EMPHASIZE THE IDEALS OF BALLET FORM.

concept: The site of the project was the current Valentino showroom located in the Piazza di Spagna, adjacent to the Spanish Steps. The task was to design a fashion showroom within the historic building, for an Italian designer. I chose Emilio Pucci. The structure of the building must stay untouched. The concept of the project was inspired by the pattern of overlapping and intersecting lines of the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection. The design elements of colored glass reflect light to created a shadow of colored stripes.
