EGENAOgallery is proud to present you for the first time through this publication, this small collection of drawings of the many that the artist Eric Genao has been able to make, in his artistic career.
We want them to be able to appreciate and verify the technical and creative mastery that he shows to have, regardless of the thematic variations resulting from the cognitive and sensitive conditions that he possesses.
Drawing is considered one of the most authentic expressions of the visual artist, especially when the techniques used cannot be corrected or erased by using ink with a pen or brush or any other means of artistic expression.
His models are sometimes drawn from his physical environment, and more often from his imaginary mental space, not so much from his intellect and consequently from his creative and sensitive world. The means and technical resources are varied, working together to obtain results, sometimes unexpected and spectacular and other times, precise and fully conscious with extraordinary finishes.
The true utility of drawing is that it allows ideas to be projected, created, and visually and physically specified with appropriate means and techniques. Representing physical bodies or objects through drawing is to seek pure technical development, but not necessarily creative.
The vast majority of drawings made by the artist in his artistic career are creative drawings, not sketches for painting, engraving or sculpture projects, so that when he paints or sculpts, he creates his compositions and the drawing can be clearly perceived in the structure of his compositions.
