Being a Jedi is one of the wildest dream a Star Wars fanboy could ever dream about. This year, BioWare and LucasArts will release another MMORPG where you can fulfill that fantasy of becoming one of the most well-respected Jedi's in the galaxy. Star Wars the Old Republic is set thousands of years before Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It's packed with the classes and professions Star Wars geeks have always longed to see. Whether it's a Sith, Bounty hunter, Imperial agent or Jedi, you can expect to see these classes available to be played once the game comes out. A Jedi is well known for their lightsaber wielding skill and their ability to call forth the power of the Force. Star Wars the Old Republic Jedi Consular is no exception. However, unlike their Jedi companion, the Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular focuses their skills more on using the Force rather than their lightsaber. Both Consular and Knight share the same starting planet in game on Tython. Jedi Consular focuses their training on using the Force while Jedi Knight concentrates theirs on melee combat and close ranged attacks. Of course, you will have to make another decision upon reaching level 10 whether you'd like to become a Jedi Sage or the Jedi Shadow. It's your call. The Jedi Sage is what you called a long ranged fighter focusing on using the Force to heal and buffing comrades in the battlefield rather than fighting with melee attacks. They are the healer of the group so it's better to have them fighting along side a group of friends than going solo. The Jedi Shadow, on the other hand, is a melee fighter with the ability to wield the double-blade lightsaber together with stealth skills allowing them to get close to an enemy before releasing a finishing blow. All Star Wars long time fans know that the story is the main attraction of every Star Wars installment and BioWare's emphasis on the story in making the Star Wars the Old Republic be make it more than just a level grinding experience. Missions play an important role here. Each class will have their own side of the story to tell and player's decisions in each mission will have a direct effect on the gaming experience. We will have to wait and see until the game comes out to actually see if the game will live up to fans' expectations. The game is the talk of the town in the MMORPG community. More information of each class will sure come out once the release date draws near.
