» A total of 11 Athletes Unlimited Softball athletes prepared for the 2022 Championship Season by competing at The World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, from July 9-13 ... The group featured seven players on Team USA, which won the Gold medal, along with three athletes on Team Canada and one member of Team Puerto Rico.

Dejah Mulipola, Team USA authored a perfect 5-0 record in the event and held off

Japan for a 3-2 victory in the Gold Medal Game ... McCleney ranked second in the tournament field with a .533 batting average while registering eight hits, including two doubles, with four runs scored and five runs batted in.

» Mulipola, meanwhile, hit a tournament-high .615 and matched McCleney’s eight hits to lead all players ... She posted four multi-hit games and drove in three runs against

Canada with a 2-for-2 performance, including a double.

» Hannah Flippen was one of four players in the tournament field to hit a pair of home runs ... She blasted a home run in back-to-back outings against Chinese Taipei and

Canada during round robin play.

» Rookie Janae Jefferson hit .333 (3-for-9) over five games in the tournament, including a double and a triple, while scoring three runs ... Jefferson opened the event with a triple against Italy before adding a double and two runs batted in against Japan in the Gold Medal Game. HANNAH FLIPPEN

» The Team USA roster also included outfielders Amanda Lorenz and Bubba Nickles, while catcher Gwen Svekis served as an alternate on the squad.

» Lorenz finished the tournament with five hits, including a double, while Nickles saw action in four contests and scored three runs.

» Pitcher Aleshia Ocasio, the lone Athletes Unlimited player on the Puerto Rico team, excelled in the circle by posting a 3-0 record with a 0.40 earned run average ... She allowed just nine hits over 17.2 innings with 15 strikeouts and just four walks.

» Ocasio, who also hit .357 in the tournament with five hits, struck out nine hitters in a complete game victory over Mexico to begin the tournament ... She also claimed a complete game win over Canada in the Fifth Place Game.

» Outfielder Victoria Hayward paced Team Canada with six hits in addition to scoring three runs ... Hayward also led the tournament with seven stolen bases, including a trio of stolen bases against Mexico during the medal round.

» Rookie infielder Alysen Febrey appeared in all five games for Team Canada, tallying a base hit against Italy in round robin play ... She also finished the tournament with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 39 chances.
