Food Market + Food Court 2018-2019 Third Year Project Location: York, United Kingdom
The street on which the site is placed is pretty dull at the moment except for Spark that holds social and cultural events and offers food and drink options. Spark was founded from with the wish of using it to revive Picadilly street. Another attraction in the area of the chosen site is Clifford’s Tower, one of the most important landmarks of York. Clifford’s Tower is surrounded by the Castle Museum, the back of a shopping centre and a big parking lot. The parking lot takes up the biggest part of the area and it ruins the view of the canal. The closest access from the side of Clifford’s Tower to the Spark side is the alleyway around the shopping area. Another thing that I noticed were the ginnels scattered all around York, so I decided to include them in my proposal.

Pluviophile: Experiential 2018-2019 Third Year Project Location: Conwy, Wales, United Kingdom -renders, plan, section,
Born from the wish of creating a space that allows people to enjoy the rain. Waling through the timber pod, rainwater can be seen and felt dripping down the cliff, it can be smelt in the air and heard as it touches the roof. The simplicity of the pod is meant to draw your attention towards nature, let you enjoy it from the entrance all the way to the windows.

Hostel + Community Area 2018 Second Year Project Location: Holmfirth, United Kingdom
Tourists are coming from different reasons to Holmfirth but there was always an issue about finding accommodation. By designing the hostel with the community areas in the centre of Holmfirth, I opened up the possibility of socializing more. The angular shapes of the buildings emulate the ginnels that are part of Holmfirth’s character. The fact that the three smaller buildings replaced a bigger one means that locals and tourists are encouraged to walk around, enjoy the views of the canal. The narrow slits of glazing still keep the privacy of people inside and at the same time bring natural light in.
