我來自馬來西亞,從小自學插畫。就 讀國立台灣藝術大學,多媒體動畫藝 術學系的原因純粹以爲“動畫”是 指“會動的插畫”。然後懵懵懂懂上 了四年的大學最後以個人畢業製作完 成了大學。

I’m from Malaysia. I self study illustration since i was a kid. Reason I’m taking animation studies is because i thought “animation” was “animated illustration”. Then I enrolled to this course and finish this whole degree with an indie short.

我很喜歡插畫也很喜歡動畫。喜歡插 畫是因爲他可以無邊無際地發展,是 我釋放壓力和情緒的管道。

I love illustration, so as animation. You can have limitless imagination and be wild in illustration. Itt helps me to release my emotion and stress. However, to be able to make a pretty much non-alive object alive is a very great acheivement to me, that’s why i love animation since.

喜歡動畫,是因爲看著自己把一個不 會動的物體賦予性格變得活靈活現, 那種成就感很實在。 在專心學習動畫之餘,我也很努力地 學習插畫。自從2011年開始,我就 成立了 “Erique-KiddoArt”,并且 很常發佈新的插畫和動畫作品。努力 經營的這9年時間,他除了是我做作 品的動力,他也讓我學會如何分配時 間和自律。

Beside animation studies, I still keep track on improving my illustration. I started “Erique-KiddoArt” since 2011, and I have been posting illustrations frequently. It’s not just a reputation that I built, but also a motivation for me to keep creating and also a way for me to learn time management and disciplinary.

我的作品一直以來都希望能夠保持一 種童真的樂趣和感覺。隨著現實的到 來,能夠保持兒時的童真與純粹的快 樂并不簡單,因此利用作品,把這一 份感覺保留起來。除了希望能夠時時 刻刻提醒自己莫忘那一份單純的自 己,也希望能夠透過作品把這種感覺 感染給觀看者。

Sense of pure innocence has always been an important element of my works. As time goes by, it’s harder to feel positive. I use art as a way to keep those feelings, in order to remind myself to keep a room for that sense. Not just for myself, I hope those works help people to feel the same way, too.

“草字頭” 是一個個人製作的畢

以上為男主角房内的場景美術。經過組 内討論,一致認爲依照導演的調性,采 用紫色和粉色之間的搭配,營造出魅惑 情欲的氛圍。此製作也是我第一次著手 擔任場景美術的部分。

These are the backgrounds and settings for the main character’s room. After discussions, the whole group decided to use purple and pink as the main colour for this film to create a lust atmosphere. This is also my first time in charge of background arts in a production.

Most inspiration comes from the objects from my surrounding and definitely combinations of geometry shapes. For example, sushi, Malaysia’s beverage take out package, favourite pet, attractiveness and etc.

Every newborn is a miracle. Every tiny spirit comes to this world is beautiful.The whole process is tough, just like a sprout trying to grow taller. In the end, the moment when it blooms, it’s just beautiful, and it’s an end of a miracle but at the same time it’s a start of another miracle as well.

此外包是 2018年 與 2020年與一 位音樂家 Corey Laurey 所合作 的。主要負責的項目為專輯 “ Preston & Wolfie “ 的專輯封 面設計。 此專輯主要記載了音樂創作者這些 年來的心路歷程。利用對於音樂的 熱忱而創作出7首音樂。

This is a collaboration with a musician, Corey Laurey in 2018 and 2020. I was in charge with the album “Preston & Wolfie” cover design. This is an album that has been taking some years to complete. It is an album that carries all the musician’s feelings in this path he’s been trying to pursue.

位於二樓(作圖藍色墻)的作品展 區,主要展出的是另一個個人系列 作品。每個月我會想新的主題,而 每一天則會花5到10分鐘的時間,依 照當月的主題在一張名片大小的紙 張畫圖。於是1年後,我有12個主題 的圖,總共為365張小圖。這是一個 很有趣的磨練自己的自律和練習自 己創意的小練習。 On the second floor, we have another personal project i gave myself. It took one year to finish this whole project. Each month i will give myself a new theme and each day i will draw something on a business card based on theme-of-the-month. Eventually, i accumulated 12 sets of topic and 365 pieces of tiny illustrations in your creativity and disciplinary.
