The sports performance center is for a Division II University located in the central region of Oklahoma. The purpose of this facility is to provide a state of the art training center that will house all university athletic departments and provide many services for their student athletes. The goal of the sports performance center is to increase athletic performance while serving as a recruiting tool for future athletes. The facility will also be utilized for alumni and donor functions. In addition to training faculties and locker rooms, the sport performance center will also provide student athletes with a place to further their education and increase social interaction within the student athlete body. The pre-design process consisted of evaluating the client's needs from the program. Forte Design + Construct determined how to strategically meet the needs and wants of the clients through breaking down the spaces and understanding how each space functions individually and holistically. This step led FD+C to the assemble adjacencies of seperate the building based off of function. Once adjacencies were determined FD+C researched precedents of athletic facilities to further understand the inner workings as well as gauge what the most state-of-the-art facilities included. From these studies we concluded that spaces such as the athletic training area, recruiting and alumni space and locker rooms are of great importance to showcase programs and increase recruitment numbers among athletic programs.

02 ABNER’S PLAZA
07
MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT LOCATED IN NORMAN OKLAHOMA AS PART OF A MAIN STREET URBAN DESIGN. Project date: August 2015
The city of Norman was named in honor of Abner Norman, the area's initial land surveyor, and its main street stands as a relic of the early settlement. Recent expansions to the historic main street have since ruined the walkability and congregational aspects of this area. Abner’s Plaza serves to reurbanize the depraved section of Main Street. A rejuvenated urban plaza is essential in improving the retail and commercial viability of this renovation. The plaza will assist in the rejuvenation of the public realm for the site as well as facilitate the architectural renovations. The form of the building will mimic the form of a traditional home’s gabled roofs in a contemporary reinterpretation with the shed roof. The plaza design for the project includes a statue commemorating Abner Norman as the center piece of the landscape and public seating area. The statue will serve as a landmark as well as offer an homage to the City of Norman’s history.

Occupational research was very important to decide what the vocational school and community needed. The school houses a wood shop, classrooms, culinary school, and IT labs. The school can also be used to encourage civic engagement as well as provide a flourishing economic sector with new and varying job opportunities.

04 KOSMOS PARK
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ENTRY OFA PUBLIC PARK LOCATED IN IVANO-FRANKIVSK, UKRAINE. Project date: April 2015
Ivano-Frankivsk has evolved from a historic fortress into a monocentric city with a flourishing downtown area, historic center, residential quarters, administrative and general institutions, and cultural and environmental facilities. These spaces are connected by public spaces that are formed from preexisting landscapes, pedestrian zones, and public squares. However, many of the transition zones between spaces are left unmaintained and have become a public concern for locals. The growing concern for these poorly kept areas in need of improvement and detailing as well as a lack of areas for children and families to play and congregate outdoors have become critical concerns for the entire community. “Kosmos Park” addresses these concerns and introduces life into a dying area. Bringing new playground equipment, park lights, landscaping, recreational areas, and eating/seating areas, Kosmos Park allows the people of Ivano-Frankivsk to meet and play together in an environment engulfed in nature and well-kept recreational areas. Kosmos Park will create a sense of community, provide a safe place for children and families to play outdoors and be a readaptable space. The design of the park is inspired by the existing landscape as well as the surrounding environment. The Kosmos Cinema and the Ivano-Frankivsk Music and Drama Theatre close by already give life to the area. The location of this site is a perfect place for these two buildings to come together and meet. Kosmos Park’s sidewalks, shapes, and colors are inspired by the livelyhood and playfulness found in the arts and in children. 15

USE RESIDENTIAL PROJECT LOCATED 05 THE BALTIMORE MIXED IN KANSAS CITY MISSOURI. Project date: August 2014
Based on the idea that sensible architecture emerges from desired spaces and programmatic relationships, The Baltimore instills n experience of place in an urban jungle. The Baltimore is a typical loft + retail + gallery composition where live, work, and play is seamlessly mixed within a contemporary structure. Problems with daylighting and dull work and living conditions are encountered within the close proximity of Kansas City’s downtown. the green venue on the south end of the structure and unique facades allow for daylight to enter the building from many angles. Additionally, these features provide new viewpoints for the inhabitants - making inside work more desirable. The Baltimore is a successful intertwining of living recreation, and nature.
