“I am fascinated by the power, spirit and gentleness of the horse. I marvel at how they can be so friendly, yet aloof; so independent, yet willing to serve; so free and yet loyal. They are, as has been so beautifully expressed: ‘Nobility without pride; Beauty without vanity; Friendship without envy’.”
Lynne Gleason
L
ynne Murray Gleason was born in New Orleans and has been a professional artist all her adult life. She has lived all over the world and exhibited in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Holland, Mexico, The Middle East and all over the United States.
Lynne has worked with oils, acrylics, watercolor, encaustic, wood, bones, metal, clay, mixed media and bronze. In her long career she has explored many styles from abstract to explicit realism and many subjects from people to landscapes, horses and beyond.
She began creating art at a very young age in the studio of her mother Rai Murray who was a professional sculptor.
Lynne has had a lifelong passion for horses. While living in London with her husband, she began painting the Queen’s horses and Royal Guards which she could observe from her balcony
Lynne studied art at Newcomb College and other universities, at the La Jolla Art Institute and with well know painters Robert Brackman and Dan Greene. She received her BFA for Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Lynne was invited to the Oman National Day Celebration in 2010 and, during her stay, was invited to do this exhibition at the Museum Bait al Baranda.
“I first met Lynne M. Gleason in Muscat in early 2009 when she visited Bait Al Baranda. Having talked with her and after seeing her work on Arabian horses, I was inspired to showcase her masterpieces .” Malik bin Fahmy Al Hinai, Director at Bait Al Baranda, Muscat, 2010
