Scholarship Interview FAQ How do I sign up for my interview? The Explore USC page in your portal will provide information about registering for your interview.

Is there a deadline to sign up for my interview? You may sign up for your interview up to 48 hours before the interview start time. We encourage you to sign up early to get an interview time that works best for you.

Can I change my interview day and time? Please refer to your interview confirmation email for instructions on modifying your appointment.

What should I expect during my interview? Your interview will be focused on you: your goals, interests, accomplishments, etc. Most interviews last 20-30 minutes and include a panel of a faculty member, a current student, and a member of the admission staff, though this is not always the case. Sometimes your interviewer will ask questions about your application, so we recommend reviewing it beforehand. If needed, your academic department will provide any additional information before your interview.

Is there a dress code for the interview? There is no dress code for your interview. Please dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident!

What platform will be used to conduct the interview? Interviews will be conducted through video conferencing platforms (in most cases, Zoom). If you cannot arrange video for whatever reason, that is okay. We prefer to see you, but the most important thing is for us to hear you clearly. If you have any technological or accessibility concerns, please feel free to reach out to the academic department with whom you will be interviewing.

Do I need to attend all of the Explore USC events? The interview is required to be considered for the scholarship. We are also hosting a variety of in-person and online events to answer your questions about what it will be like for you to learn and live at USC. You are not required to attend them all, however, and we encourage you to attend those that spark your interest. We know you will gain valuable insight by attending! To find out what opportunities are available at each of our events, please visit the Admitted Student Events page for a breakdown of event offerings.

Where can I find answers to other questions I have about USC and/or the USC admission process? Try checking the askUSC website for answers to common questions. We also recommend visiting our Next Steps page, a helpful resource with information about accepting your offer of admission, applying for financial aid, events and more. You are also welcome to call us at (213) 740-1111. Counselors are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
