The Department of Public Safety protects and serves the USC campus community and is one of the largest campus public safety departments in the nation. Headquartered on the University Park Campus with substations on the Health Sciences Campus and in the USC Village, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

PATROL & RESPONSE BOUNDARIES

The Department of Public Safety’s patrol jurisdiction extends beyond the footprint of the University Park and Health Sciences Campuses. DPS better serves the USC community by responding to calls for service within this wider geographical area. The university relies on the close relationship with the LAPD to provide services to USC community members within this expanded service area.
