A new project to support 18-‐24 year old people in Cornwall who’ve been unemployed for over 12 months (And, a potential partner for your organisation)
Hello, Talent Match Cornwall is a £1.7M five year Big Lottery funded project that will help 18-‐24 year olds who have been unemployed for a year or more to move forward with their lives and find work. Operationally, Talent Match Cornwall has been active since April 2014. From concept through to delivery and governance, Talent Match Cornwall puts young people at the heart of everything it does. Delivery across the county is being led by a team of six apprentices who have all experienced challenges, obstacles, self-‐doubt, rejection and life on the dole. They relate well to how young people feel and know how to talk and engage with them in a way that wins the trust of the young adults Talent Match Cornwall supports. There are eight ways that the Talent Match programme can help young people to develop skills, experience, confidence and opportunities. As well as the unique elements of the project, Talent Match Cornwall works with a large number of organisations across the county to provide support, training and work related opportunities to young people as they move towards employment or self-‐employment. In particular, Talent Match Cornwall is keen to develop strong relationships with organisations in the Launceston, Liskeard, Bodmin, St. Austell, Truro, Camborne, Redruth and Penzance catchment areas. We want to work with organisations that can promote the project, refer clients to us or support our clients by delivering services to them.

Talent Match can support your organisation and clients by: providing additional support for unemployed young adults you work with (we can provide the additional time and level of personalised support that you may not have the time or resources to provide) and referring clients to you. To become a partner you will need to fill our standard ‘Letter of assurance’. Once done, we will provide you with what you need to explain the project to young people and refer them to us. You will also be able to meet with the team to discuss the best way to work with Talent Match Cornwall and ensure we understand your organisational aims and objectives. We work with organisations across Cornwall and will design a journey that gives you the skills, experience and opportunities you need to grow as a person and reach your goal.

Need a little extra assistance with the costs of beginning a new job or career? 375 Talent Match members will be able to apply for up to £300 to cover costs related to getting or starting a job. From shoes to travel and mobile credits, Work Start is here to help you cover the costs of whatever you need to get started.
Bringing together employers from all over Cornwall with Talent Match Members to build relationships, develop a better understanding and open-‐up opportunities for work experience as well as giving you an insider’s view of what employers want and need from young employees.
Enterprise Days consist of a range of interactive activities delivered by experts and apprentices to help develop an understanding of Enterprise whether you are self-‐employed, employed or running a social enterprise.
Generation E is a group of young people at the heart of Talent Match that meet regularly to support each other and discuss ways to tackle issues affecting young people across Cornwall.
