MAT.24:7, 8 … And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Jesus said that plagues and diseases would precede His return. In 1951, when WHO issued its first set of health regulations to prevent the international spread of diseases, the situation was stable, the report said. People traveled internationally by ship, slowing the spread of diseases around the world. New diseases were rare. But today, *large volumes of people can easily travel worldwide, meaning an outbreak or epidemic anywhere on the planet is only a few hours away from becoming an imminent threat somewhere else. The coronavirus crisis has brought the whole world to a grinding halt and put something like three billion people under virtual house arrest. All over the world *fear has replaced not just faith but also just plain common sense and rational thinking. Let’s try to make some sense of this mess and also shine some of the light of God’s Word on the situation.

HEB.2:9, 14, 15 …that He (Jesus) by the grace of God should taste death for every man… that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The Antichrist has not yet appeared on the world scene (as of May 2020), he has not yet been revealed. But antichrist forces are getting the world prepared for him. Look how many signs of the times had already been fulfilled, even before COVID-19: the uniting of Europe, increased use of technology for financial, political and thought control, the voluntary forfeiting of nations' sovereignty to the idea of a one-world government, the desensitizing and dumbing down of the masses through so-called education and the mass media, the secularization of religion, etc. More changes will follow, and will largely be accomplished through crisis and fear.

The institutions of the western world, until fairly recently, had been built on Judeo-Christian values but they are rapidly being replaced by the confused license of so-called liberalism. These dark forces have gotten their hands into the administration of the law, into the conduct of elections, into the press and little by little into the liberty of the individual. They have given special attention to education as being the cornerstone of a free existence. They have fooled, bemused and corrupted the youth by inculcating and rearing them in principles and theories
