Don't have time to read this Summer? Why not check out an audiobook and listen instead! Each week from July 4th - August 22nd, the Library will be featuring a new audiobook on our Facebook page. Have a look. You may find your next favorite story! Audiobooks have been purchased thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Cobourg July 4th to August 22nd Adults

Sandcastle Festival!

CPL goes to the beach once again! We will be at the Sandcastle Festival hosting our popular facepainting station. Come on by and get painted and learn more about the Library’s summer programs for children, teens, and adults. July 30th 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Visit the Seed Library

Have you visited the Seed Library yet? You can 'borrow' seeds to take home and plant then, let us know how they did in your garden and bring a few back to us in the Fall to share with next year's gardeners. The Seed Library, located at our Gores Landing branch and on the second floor of the main library, will run throughout the summer, lending seeds and taking donations of harvested seeds. Pop-Up Library

Our pop-up library is at the beach, beside the Cobourg Police trailer, once again! Pop by and take a book, leave a book, and leave us a note! We’ll keep the library there until the snow flies!

Bewdley Book Sale

Join us at the Bewdley Library for our annual Hamilton Township book sale! Great selection and plenty of deals. All proceeds go directly back to the Library! August 6th 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.


Programs for Adults It’s Back!! Adult Summer Reading Club

This Summer, join the Cobourg Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading club and you’ll get a chance to win. Pick up your Summer Reading Club entry card at any branch starting on Monday June 27th. Once you’ve checked out eight items to read, you’ll be entered to win weekly and monthly prizes, as well as our end-of-summer grand prize. There’s never been a better time to take a book to the cottage or enjoy a magazine on the patio! June 27th to August 28th

Library Colouring Club

Adults everywhere are re-discovering the fun of colouring! Join us on Monday Nights for a regular colouring program and discover the fun for yourself. Colouring pictures and pencil crayons will be provided. Weather-permitting, colouring will be available on our patio! Mondays at 6:30 p.m. from July 4th - 25th Adults

Bewdley Book Club

Join us once a month for great books & great conversation in Hamilton Township. Refreshments will be provided. Programs for Children in Cobourg Get WILD by joining the TD Summer Reading Club!

Registration Begins Wednesday, June 29th at 6:00 p.m. Join us for a Bubble Dance Party to kick-off the summer! Sign up to read as many books as you can over seven weeks! You can read any Library book you like and you can report on the book by telling us about it, drawing a picture, or writing about it. You will receive a FREE reading log and stickers when you sign up! July and August

TD Summer Reading Club Character Hunt Our 12 TD Summer Reading Club characters have decided to play a game of hide and seek. Where the Wild Things Are Drawn

Families from far and wide ... Come and listen while we read you a ‘Wild’ book, but with a twist. YOU must draw the story as it is being read to you. Teen Summer Reading – Launch Party

The very first CPL Teen summer reading launch party! Come and get your book-log, listen to music, and decorate a cupcake. Choose your first read, will it be a post-apocalyptic thriller, a summer romance, a graphic novel, or something totally different? Cupcakes and reading, what could be better? July 5th 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ages 13-18 Years If you can’t make the party but still want to join the teen summer reading you can pick up your book-log at the Youth Services desk!

Duunnn, dunnn, duunn, dunn. . .Jaws!

Come and cool off with the summer blockbuster “Jaws”! The story of a small summer beach town that’s water is being stalked by a killer shark. Teen Summer Reading members get one extra ballot just for attending! Shark-trivia and snacks will be provided. August 24th 6:00 p.m. Ages 13 to 18 Years
