No todo el verano en Mallorca discurre frente al mar, también hay otra Isla más discreta ajena al bullicio de las playas y de la que nos gusta ser testigos vistiendo ESPACIOS perfectos para ser disfrutados. Ésta es una pequeña historia cotidiana: la de un picnic entre los viñedos de esta casa, situada en la zona norte de Mallorca, frente a las montañas de Pollença.

Not the entire summer in Mallorca runs along the seashore; there’s also another, more discreet island that flows unaffected by the bustle of the beaches, and we enjoy being witnesses while donning perfect SPACES to be savored. This is a simple everyday story: that of a picnic amidst the vineyards of this home, located in the northern area of Mallorca, facing the Pollença mountains.

El sol todavía está alto y proyecta juegos de sombras bajo el cañizo del porche, con los cuales Alexandre disfruta imaginando historias que luego le cuenta a su madre. El calor aprieta, aunque hoy las montañas nos obsequian con una ligera brisa que agita la lavanda que rodea la piscina, impregnando todo con su aroma.

The sun is still high, casting playful shadows beneath the thatched porch, where Alexandre enjoys envisioning stories that he recounts to his mother. The heat is intense today, although the mountains gift us a gentle breeze that rustles the lavender surrounding the pool, bathing everything in its scent.

Las horas pasan con esa mezcla de hastío y disfrute que solo el verano en Mallorca nos ofrece. El agua es un bálsamo incluso en la montaña...

The hours pass with that blend of weariness and enjoyment that only summer in Mallorca offers us. The water is a balm, even in the mountains...

Preparar la cesta de picnic en la cocina es un ritual que Alexandre no se salta. Mientras su madre va de un lado a otro, reuniendo todos los ingredientes para un auténtico pa amb oli mallorquín, Alexandre supervisa la operación desde la encimera para no olvidar nada: tiene que ser perfecto.

Preparing the picnic basket in the kitchen is a ritual that Alexandre doesn’t skip. While his mother goes back and forth, gathering all the ingredients for an authentic Mallorcan pa amb oli, Alexandre oversees the operation from the countertop to not forget anything: it has to be perfect.

El sol comienza a ceder y ahora que empieza a dar respiro, es hora de extender el mantel junto al olivo preferido de Alexandre, cerca de los viñedos. Con la mágica luz de Pollença al atardecer y la casa al fondo casi difuminada, llega el momento de uno de los rituales favoritos de madre e hijo: el picnic.

Sobre el pan de masa madre del horno del pueblo, Alexandre frota los tomates de ramellet y lo riega, con generosidad, de aceite de oliva ecológico obtenido a menos de 1 km de la bahía de Pollença, pero lo más importante es que lo hace él solo.

The sun begins to relent, and now that it’s starting to ease up, it’s time to spread the picnic blanket by Alexandre’s favorite olive tree, next to the vineyards. With Pollença’s magical evening light and the house in the background almost blurred, it’s time for one of the favorite rituals of mother and son: the picnic.

On the sourdough bread from the village bakery, Alexandre rubs the ramellet tomatoes, always generously, with organic olive oil obtained less than 1 km from Pollença Bay. But the most important thing is that he does it on his own.

· Dientes de ajo (opcional)

· Jamón serrano, queso mahonés, aceitunas, etc.

· Slices of rustic bread from the village

· Ripe ramallet tomatoes

· Extra virgin olive oil

Salt from Es Trenc

· Garlic cloves (optional)

· Serrano ham, mahonese cheese, olives, etc.
