Welcome to your new home

Born in Tel Aviv in 1972. Ron Gilad’s hybrid objects combine a practical ingenuity with an aesthetic effect which and are placed on a boundary between the abstract and functional. When he was asked to collaborate with Molteni&C, Ron Gilad initially wondered if he should behave as a designer or just be himself in the most authentic way. He found his answer by creating a connection between his more abstract and artistic ideas and commercial industry mechanisms and converting them into ingenious design products.

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, Octave is a system of modular sofas featuring rigo rous shapes. The source for his new project are those wide skyscraper windows that offer breathtaking views over cosmopolitan megacities while comfortably seated on inviting sofas and armchairs. Octave offers open elements with which to create chaises longues or poufs that can be arranged alongside the composition or used as free-standing elements, also for the centre of the room.

The AMPHORA collection has been designed to create a warm environment especially in outdoors. However, thanks to its highly decorative look, the Amphoras can equally be placed both in outdoor and indoor. The size and shape of this collection pay a subtle and discreet homage to the terracotta amphora formerly used to store food. In this collection we have used a synthetic wicker to make up big handmade baskets as shades with a tripod foot subjected to a cataphoresis treatment. The light source is located inside the polyethylene ellipse which grants its water proofing. The light emitted by the Amphora collection is full of nuances and shapes.
