Data centres have enormous power and cooling loads in order to maintain a continuous and stable operation. Whilst advances in processor, storage and virtualisation technologies have delivered improvements in power usage effectiveness (PUE) a continuous market expansion requires an increase in supplied power. With energy typically representing 80% of annual operational costs the opportunity to make significant savings through the use of energy equipment has never been greater.
