02 Co-working space in Aleksanterinkatu 48

Case : Interior design of the co-working space on the top floor of the existing building in Aleksanterinkatu. This project was a renovation of the existing top floor in the building. With the increase in remote workers in Finland, the necessity to have more co-workings spaces throughout cities has increased as well and hence this project during my masters.

The sky light allows more natural inside the building throughout the year.

16

Zoning of the co-working space

17

The total proposed design area for the co-working space is 150m². The basic idea of the co-working space is to have a variety of spaces for different working modes, which includes an individual focus work area, open workspace, meeting room, informal work area, standing work area, relaxation area, outdoor work area and an unobstructed outdoor area for different relaxation activities like yoga, meditation or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Thus, the zoning of the spaces has been organised so that the functionality of these activities does not hamper.

This method combines natural elements and characteristics like water, plants, lighting, and raw materials such as wood and stone into the constructed environment. For example, using more organic forms and shapes rather than straight lines is a prominent aspect of biophilic designs, as is developing visual interactions between light and shadow.

18

The floor arrangement is uncommon for a work setting, with little ambience creating an organic stroll around the stations. The trees planted within the workplace and the skylights help to create a strong link between nature and the daily routine. Natural lighting, like in neuroarchitecture, is one of the fundamentals for the user's well-being, being directly connected to emotions of warmth and comfort. 19

Regardless of the amount of greenery, outdoor spaces are critical for taking a break and recharging our batteries.

20

The informal work area has a view of the outdoor space, and the glass partitions can be folded entirely during summertime to enlarge the space in a way that the indoor space overflows into the outdoor space; such spaces can be used for small get-togethers or any small programs as well. The project aims to demonstrate the intrinsic worth and possibilities of unused floors and reshape the collective perception of these spaces, frequently tainted by a negative general perception as insecure and unsuitable for inhabiting or working.

Apartment co-working spaces may also synergise with other community amenities such as outdoor areas, children's play areas, and pet-friendly zones.

03 Design of a private rooftop BBQ Case : Interior design of a residence rooftop BBQ space, situated in Bashundhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

There’s something really special about cooking and eating outside - senses are heightened, great vibes happen. Located atop, the rooftop bbq features an outdoor terrace and glass offering panoramic views of , the residential block. The aim was to create a perfect destination to soak up the sunshine, catch the sunset or gaze at the stars in the stylish surroundings with friends and family as the client loves hosting guests.

This is a professional work I did as a fellow member of the design team in D’studio while working as an architect. During the project my main task was solving the functional requirements with taking design decisions for the project, drawing floor plans and producing 3D models of the proposed design, 3D visualization and rendering, producing animated video of the proposed design, drawing electrical plans, meeting with client to understand the requirements and presenting new design proposals, material study, construction supervision and lighting study.

23

The glass partition between the indoor and outdoor space can be completely folded to enlarge the space for bigger gatherings, allowing the fluidity of the space.

24

The space for indoor bbq also comes with a small bar and glass roof. This space has plenty windows for natural airflow and the glass roof adds another open direction towards the sky, perfect for a glass of wine while admiring the stars in the night sky.

25

View of the living room and the indoor bbq space. These two spaces are placed in such a way so that a depth of spaces can bee created.

27
