RACHEL AMA

Plant-based foods have become a major thing thanks to documentaries such as Netflix’s The Game Changers, which shows how Olympic-level athletes have achieved great things by going vegan. Rachel Ama is an author and cook who whips up vegan comfort food – the kind that makes it easy to forego meat dishes. Learn how to make a mean apple cake, whip up a Caribbean feast, or surprise your partner with a flavour-packed beefless stew!

LAURA VITALE

Laura Vitale has had her über-popular YouTube channel since 2010 and she has over one thousand recipes that are easy and appealing to diners of all ages. Laura was born in Italy, moving to the U.S. when she was 12 and working with her father (renowned Chef, Salvatore Pietrangeli) in their family restaurant chain in New Jersey. As you can imagine, Laura is particularly adept at Italian dishes, but she also makes a host of international treats like breakfast tacos, chicken kebabs and yellow rice, as well as Basque burnt cheesecake.

TIMOTHY HOLLINGSWORTH

Timothy Hollingsworth is a prestigious Los Angeles-based Chef who never really had much time for YouTube, until COVID-19 turned our lives upside-down. He honed his craft for many years at The French Laundry (with Thomas Keller), eventually opening his own restaurant (Otium) to rave reviews. His channel, Hollingsworth House, was started just one month ago. Videos feature the Chef and his children making simple dishes like stuffed cabbage rolls, biscuits and gravy, and mac & cheese from scratch.

SANJAY THUMMA

Sanjay Thumma’s channel VahchefVahRehVah has almost 2M subscribers and it’s easy to see why. Apart from the fact that Indian food is loved by millions of people in the world, Chef Sanjay makes it all look so easy. Make an authentic breakfast biryani, spice up your life with a ghee roast chicken with chili garlic, and delight in the creaminess of a fragrant, vivid paneer butter masala.

JORDI CRUZ

The proprietor of restaurants boasting a total of five Michelin stars in Barcelona, Jordi Cruz is also a huge celebrity in Spain, since he is a judge on MasterChef Spain. He has been very busy while on lockdown, uploading a new recipe every couple of days. He is as ace at desserts as he is at savoury meals so if you have a sweet tooth in the family, why not enlist their help to make a lemon tart, carrot cake, or créme tarte with strawberries and roses? We promise the recipes are simple and made with easily accessible ingredients. e
