G OL R AN THE HISTORY OF GOLRAN IS FIRST AND FOREMOST THE STORY OF A FAMILY FROM MASHHAD, A PERSIAN CITY, THAT NOW STANDS NEAR THE BORDER BETWEEN IRAN AND RUSSIA. THIS IS WHERE THE ADVENTURE BEGAN FOR HAJIZADEH GOLRAN WHEN, IN 1898, HE FORMED THE COMPANY THAT, TODAY, SPECIALIZES IN PREMIUM QUALITY ANTIQUE AND CONTEMPORARY ORIENTAL CARPETS.
It is a story of true passion for the art of Persian carpets, which has endured across the eras and distant countries. A family united by shared goals and values has ensured the survival of this tradition to the present day, underpinned and guided by these same principles. The teachings of the great master knotters of the past have become a precious cultural heritage of traditional handcrafting that remains the foundation of Golran collections, despite technological developments and a shift toward design. From the ancient bazaars to the most modern European markets, from Mashad to Milan (where the company moved to in 1968) and across three generations, today Golran’s descendants still run the company with the same skill, reliability and passion. Focusing primarily on quality has become one of the company’s key strengths, enabling it to expand into many countries and become a well-established business and one of the most qualified in the sector.

Una storia fatta di una passione au- tentica per l’arte dei tappeti persiani, che ha attraversato epoche e paesi molto lontani e che, grazie ad una famiglia unita negli intenti e nei valori, è arrivata fino ad oggi,sostenuta e guidata dagli stessi principi. Gli insegnamenti dei grandi maestri annodatori di allora sono diventati un prezioso background culturale e artigianale che, ancora oggi, nonostante l’evoluzione tecnologica e l’apertura verso il design,sono alla base delle collezioni golran. Dagli antichi bazar ai più moderni mercati europei, da Mashad a milano (dove l’azienda si trasferisce nel 1968), Attraversando tre generazioni, i discendenti golran continuano oggi l’attività dell’azienda con immutata competenza, affidabilità e passione. Puntare sulla qualità prima di tutto è diventato il punto di forza dell’azienda, permettendole di espandersi in molti paesi fino a diventare oggi una realtà consolidata e una delle aziende più accreditate del settore.
M E MOR I E S A UNIQUE ORIGINAL COLLECTION DESIGNED FOR GOLRAN BY ARTIST AND DESIGNER ISABELLA SODI FROM FLORENCE. SHE TRANSMITS HER PRECIOUS AESTHETIC AND CULTURAL KNOW-HOW OF INTERIOR DESIGN AND HAUTE COUTURE THROUGH HER PERSONAL INTERPRETATION OF THE CARPET. The collection includes few items charged with a powerful emotional impact, suspended between past and future. It is firmly anchored to tradition, starting from the production site - Nepal - where the most important “carpet making tool” is experience. The Memories collection includes all the colors and suggestions from the natural world, merged into a sophisticated balance. Colors are never “gaudy” but barely whispered: chalk and limestone whites and shades of gray of clay, slate, quartz, and onyx; dusty cyan hues of agate and bold shades of lapis lazuli; the nuances of red in the progression of coral to terracotta; jade and emerald green; the golden hues of amber and topaz; peat and mud browns; and the black of ebony and hematite. Clear and opalescent in the brilliance of silk, bamboo and soy; with the depth conveyed by a matt finish on wool and linen; naturally imperfect in undyed wools and intentionally imperfect in the handcrafted abrash effect. Colors, which are chosen with a highly personal approach, centre on slight nuances that vibrate amidst the sheen of silk and the «dusty» finish of wool and linen. In this blend of fibers and weaves, the artful touches of slight imperfections are expertly measured to create carpets that also enhance the allure of instinct and skilled craftsmanship.
UNA COLLEZIONE ORIGINALE E UNICA DISEGNATA PER GOLRAN DALL’ARTISTA E DESIGNER FIORENTINA ISABELLA SODI CHE TRASFERISCE IL SUO PREZIOSO BAGAGLIO ESTETICOCULTURALE, A CAVALLO TRA INTERIOR DESIGN E ALTA MODA, NELLA SUA PERSONALE INTERPRETAZIONE DEL TAPPETO. La collezione è costituita da pochi pezzi dal forte impatto emotivo sospesi fra passato e futuro: fortemente ancorata alla tradizione, iniziando dal luogo di realizzazione -il Nepal- dove lo strumento di lavoro più all’avanguardia è l’esperienza. La collezione di tappeti memories raccoglie tutte le sfumature e le suggestioni della natura, bilanciate con eleganza, colori mai “sfacciati” ma quasi sussurrati partendo dai bianchi del gesso e della calce; i grigi dell’argilla e dell’ardesia, del quarzo e dell’onice; gli azzurri polverosi dell’agata e quelli decisi del lapis, i rossi che sfumano dal corallo alla terracotta; verde sia come giada che come smeraldo; i toni dorati dell’ambra e del topazio, i bruni come torba e fango fino al nero dell’ebano e dell’ematite: trasparenti e opalescenti nella brillantezza della seta, del bamboo e della soia; opachi e profondi nella lana e nel lino; naturalmente imperfetti nelle lane-non-tinte e volutamente imperfetti negli abbrash eseguiti manualmente. L’utilizzo dei colori è molto personale, fatto di sfumature lievi che vibrano tra la lucentezza della seta e la patina “polverosa” della lana e del lino. Un mix di fibre e tessiture dove i sapienti tocchi di lieve imperfezione sono dosati ad arte per creare dei tappeti che puntano anche sul fascino dell’istinto e della manualità.

I SA BE L LA S ODI ISABELLA SODI HAS LONG-STANDING EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELDS OF FASHION AND DESIGN. Born in Florence, she started out as an interior designer for
installations, homes and shops. She then moved to Milan, where she focused on fashion design, and to Rome, where she concentrated on haute couture with a passion. She finally returned to Milan, where she lives today and is much appreciated in the field of furnishings and interiors.
ISABELLA SODI VANTA UNA LUNGA ESPERIENZA NEI SETTORI DELLA MODA E DEL DESIGN.
Fiorentina, inizia a lavorare come interior designer per allestimenti, case e negozi. Approda quindi a Milano, per dedicarsi al fashion design e poi a Roma dove lavora con passione nell’alta moda. Torna nuovamente a Milano, dove oggi vive, occupandosi di arredamento e decorazione.
