Receiving(the(cold(afternoon(light(are(the(windows(on!the$North"West%face% of#the#Ordsall#Hall.#Only#in#summer#these#windows#allow#some#views#of#the# evening&sunset,&depending&on&how&much&light&the&west&side&of&the&building& blocks'out.'Windows'situated'on'North"!West%are%in%such%rooms%as%East%Wing% Lobby,& Star& Chamber,) Great) Chamber,) The) Frederick) Shields) Gallery,) The) Great&Hall,&Reception&and&stairs.! North!East! Rooms%with%windows%facing%North"!East%are%particularly%cold%in%winter,%when% sun$ is$ low$ in$ the$ south.$ Luckily,$ elevation$ on$ this$ side$ of$ the$ building$ is$ the$ smallest' one.' Probably' the' main' demerit' of' the' overall' Hall’s' orientation' would&be&that&the&kitchen’s"windows"are"facing"North"East,&making&it&a&cold& space&with& little& daylight.&Despite& that& East& side&of&the&building&shields&from& the$morning$light$keeping$the$kitchen$even$colder.$Other$rooms$facing$North"! Ghost(nights( There!are!numerous!stories!about!ghosts!at!Ordsall!Hall,!in! particular!The!White!Lady.!Visitors!say!they!have!seen!her! hovering! in! the! rooms! but! nobody! knows! who! she! is.!
