Damascus School project 2010 Train station 102.000m2 completed

The main idea was to keep continuity in the street creating a free floor and to make this building a protective cover against the sun of Damascus recreating the souk atmosphere. The program organizes in differents floors differents levels of privacity.From the most public areas on the ground(train and subway) to the most privated(office and theater in the first and residential in the second floor). The building is structured by 11 elements called “light cones”that gather in the same core communication,light,ventilation and structure; trying to make the remaining space as flexible as possible. Light cones adapt to diferent fonctions in the building.In the basement they bring light(using diagonal walls).In the ground floor these diagonal walls open the space in between structures to create a main route.The 1st floor is an “open- space” where everything is organized around the core.In the 2nd floor the diagonal walls become vertical to participate as a side of a communal patio that distribute housing all around.

//OPEN MALL//

site: type: year: program: area: status:

Casablanca School project 2011 Comercial Center 20.000m2 completed

The proposal is to create a commercial space that fits rigorously in Casablanca ‘s fabric. All the streets keep the continuity through the building in order to preserve the urban atmosphere inside of the building.The building is divided in 2 parts,each one has his own opencentral space.On the ground floor there is a covered plaza, characterised by the permeabilty ,where the street market activity is developed.On the first floor there is a a shopping mall along a comercial street (8 shape) that cross the road through a bridge and connect the 2 sides of the urban space.Finally the mall is coronated with restaurants,sport center and a school.

Radical Mix

Hanoi School project 2009 Mixed program tower 80.000m2 completed

The proposal is to create a new concept of tower, which attempts to break with the hierarchy, isolation and coldness, proposing a certain mix of uses in a vertical way regarded as “micro-neighbourhoods interspersed with some lobbies.Thoses lobbies become social meeting points, because of the existence of gardens, salons and commerces. Due to this kind of vertical urbanism,it is established a particular relationship between different uses and reflects the multifunctionality and diversity that exist in a city. Lobbies are interconnected by a spiral ramps that allow the possibility to walk up the tower without using stairs and creating a human relationships between programs.

//CONNECTING HILLS//

site: type: year: program: area: status:

Navafria(Madrid) School project 2009 Mountain retreat 1.500m2 completed

The shelter is located between two hills right next to a river. The main idea is to extend the mineral world and connect the two hills.The cantilevers cover the swimming area in order to create an inside atmosphere.On one hill we have the most public areas(living rooms,restaurants,reception, acces to swimming area), on the other hill we have the rooms.Connecting the 2 sides there is a bridge-bar that allows hikers and skiers to cross but also guests to cross from the rooms to the public areas inside the building.This complex works as well in summer(swimming, hiking)as in winter(skiing).The materiality and the conceptualization respect the environenmment in order to avoid ruptures with the landscape.The shelter provides energy to satisfy his own demand with geothermal and hidraulic power.

//VIBRANT MILESTONES// site: type: year: program: area: status:

Madrid School project 2009 Residence tower 18.000m2 completed

These towers are designed for a residential use but also for the introduction of a skyline reference in madrid.3 towers on a commercial podium where street life happens.The acces to the residential towers is made by 3 ramps that end at the entrance.Between these 3 towers there is an isolated garden from the public space where propietary could have more privacy.The facade is composed by a modulated system of wooden slats that offers,in complement with the terraces’s gaps,a vibration effect in the facade.

//MEDITERRANEAN PATIOS// site: type: year: program: area: status:

Madrid School project 2009 Residence 800m2 completed

The principal composition is an addition of diferents boxes leaving 5 voids as a patios between them.These patios are very characterised by their use and their materiality.There is one for the entrance,one for service area and othe for commun areas.A part from that there are two more,with more privacy,between rooms.Nature goes to the heart of the architecture through the patios meanwhile architecture extends, with walls, into Nature as well.The whole project is in concrete and some of the walls facing to the patios are made with translucent concrete. The dialogue between nature and architecture is constant and emphasized with the materiality used.

//RESTRUCTURING WASTE SPACE // site: type: year: program: area: status:

Madrid School project 2009 Urban activities 1.500m2 completed

This project focus on resolve problems about voids in Madrid’s urban fabric.The porposal is a container cube that could be transported and stacked easily.This Cube deploys,become a “wooden tapestry” and colonize territories that are out of use to restore the urban activty.These modulated “wooden tapestries” combined can occupy any empty space with flexibilty.In each module we can place vertical metal structures and use them to cover temporal spaces for urban activites.
