M. Arch, University of Malaya (UM), Year 2 Semester 1&2 (Design Thesis)
Transnationalism take place in Kuala Lumpur (KL), the capital of Malaysia and many are firstgeneration citizen. When the new generation is replacing the elder, the historic KL seems to be forgotten, erased and lost. This proposal aims to record the transformation of KL to form mutual history among the people, allowing them to

pulse heart -soul:
art & recreation centRe Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.
B.DesArch, University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) Year 2 Semester 2
The fluid and rhythmic planning complements with the natural features on the site, particularly the water body. The scheme is also in contrast to the surrounding developments creating distinctive identity in the master plan. As respond to the site, the spatial components formed in a manner that appear to be exploded into 4 directions allowing the central lobby space to be visually and physically connected to all four sides. As one moves through the complex, one comes to appreciate it as multidimensional-diverse and open-ended. This is unsurprising as the design adheres to the concept of
‘pulseheart-soul’. ‘Pulse’ denoted the connections between spaces; ‘heart’ represented by the central grand lobby which allows outward views to all sides; and ‘soul’ is symbolized by the sweeping and projecting sky bridges that accentuate the scheme. The whole complex is served by umbrella-like structures that act as rainwater harvesting system. Although the buildability and durability of the latter might be questionable, it helps to shade spaces underneath, enhances the bold sculptural quality of the form, and balances the overall 3D composition. As Ove Arup once said: “What the engineer sees as a structure, the architect sees as a sculpture. Actually, of course, it is both”.

[up]bound
f-l-u-d future living for unstable delta B.DesArch, University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) Architect'2012 Water Brick Competition Upbound is defined as moving higher in position. The communities located above ground will no longer need to deal the flood with temporary solutions (makeshift shelters,
welfare services) and lost assets consequently. Up as in above ground and bound as to constitute the boundary. [Up]bound is then defined as the community located above ground vas their zone away from the disaster, still being able to lead their lives and routines normally. The proposed design aims to tackle the issue of selfsustenance of the community during disaster. Consider assistance and welfare services to be unavailable during the crucial period of public order until things are back to normal, the design itself shall sustain the needs of the community.
