Holistic Spa & Wellness Program Program Tuition: $2295 Note: Program will typically be offered over two weeks Program Certification: Holistic & Spa Wellness Program Pre-requisite: Skin Care Therapist or Esthetician Take your current service offerings to another level and increase the success and demand for your business with TEI’s Holistic Spa & Wellness Program. The development of this program has been meticulously designed and created to introduce the Esthetician to holistic healing techniques and how to incorporate them to their existing spa service menu. In this program, you will learn about aromatherapy and nutrition geared to healthy skin as well as several different healing modalities all geared to balancing energy. Learn how the skin and body are linked and how balancing energy can achieve several goals for you and your client. About the Head Educator/ Program Developer Betty Ann has been in the esthetic industry for over 25 years. For the past 18 years, she has been an educator and consultant with Beauty Depot. She has worked full time with Beauty Depot and The Esthetic Institute as a Senior Educator and Skin Care Director. She has received her Masters in Skin Care from Repêchage in New York, as well as training from Silhouet Tone, one of the leading advanced esthetic equipment companies in the industry. Betty Ann brings to our industry a deep concern & care for others, she elevates esthetic standards from more than just skin care, to people care.....one student at a time.

The program includes one day of Aromatherapy and Nutrition, one day on Chakras and Stone Healing, two days of Reiki training; Level I and II, 2 days on Sound Energy Healing. The last day of the program is designed to give the student an opportunity to perform the different modalities learned in addition to a service they currently offer be it a facial, massage or body treatment on a model.
Program Outline: Day 1 – Chakra & Stone Healing Day 2 – Introduction to Aromatherapy and Nutrition Day 3 – Reiki Level I Day 4 – Reiki Level II Day 5 & 6 – Sound Therapy Healing + Self Care Using Theraputic Touch Workshop Day 7 – Model day AM - Hands on practice of any of the above PM - Hands on practice to include at least 1 healing modality combined with an esthetic service.
Holistic Spa & Wellness Program Synopsis Chakra & Stone Healing (1 day) Chakras are energy centers of the body that can be thought of as pathways that promote harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. Therefore it is important to understand what each one represents and what we can do to keep them open and moving freely, for our clients and us. By balancing the chakras with stones and pendulums we can have an overall effect on the emotional and physical well being of your clients. It is a fundamental basis for most other healing modalities, such as Reiki and Sound and Light Therapy and is therefore recommended as a prerequisite for those workshops. Educator: Betty Ann Newton
Introduction to Aromatherapy & Nutrition 1 day (2 modalities) Aromatherapy (3.5 hours) • A history of essential oils, description of where essential oils (EOs) come from, how they are extracted and their different uses based on their chemical constituents • What to look for when buying EOs, what to use for various ailments, how to put together a synergy blend, and what percentage to use when creating a blend • The correct use of EOs and their contraindications • Introduction of carrier oils and other base liquids and solids that can be used to mix with EOs and all of which have their own fantastic healing properties • Students will receive practical training in creating their own exclusive EO recipes including adding a carrier oil to take home . There will also be a “make your own blend” with other base products.
Educator: Christine Kirk, RMT Christine has completed a wide range of courses with The Esthetic Institute and also uses her previous training as an aromatherapy massage therapist, reflexologist and reconnective healer to help empower people to cope with all the stresses and strains of life.
Nutrition (3.5 hours) This workshop will give you the basic knowledge on how beauty relates to health and how nutrition can provide optimal health. The lecture includes an introduction to basic anatomy and physiology to show the intricate workings of the body systems in relation to health, beauty and what can occur if these systems are out of balance. This discussion will encompass the negative effects of poor or inadequate nutrition, environmental toxins and pollution, as well as external and internal stressors. Uncover what to look for and how to overcome these everyday burdens on the body. Discover the nutrients that foods and supplements provide, which are essential to enhance overall appearance, resulting in clear skin, shiny hair, strong nails and more. Lastly the workshop will touch on age related changes in the body and how to address optimal health at every stage of life so your clients can keep looking young and fabulous.
Educator: Aileen Kirk (B.Sc, RDH, R.H.N.C) Aileen is a practicing Dental Hygienist by day and a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant by night/weekend/any other time! She has always been interested in nutrition but truly discovered her passion for it after realizing how much of an impact it has on preventative health. Exploring the world of nutrition through her C.S.N.N holistic nutritional course, Aileen has not only learned the ideal approach for optimal health but optimal beauty as well.
Reiki Level I & II (2 days - Level I & II) Reiki is a form of hands on energy healing through which a “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to encourage deep relaxation and emotional or physical healing. It can be offered as a treatment or added to services you currently offer such as massage, body treatments and facials. In Level I, students will receive theory and hands on practice in the hand placements and energy flow of Reiki. In Level II, discover the sacred symbols used for hands on and long distant healing. Sound Energy Healing (1.5 days) Vibrational sound sends the body into deep relaxation to decrease stress levels in seconds. Physical relief is achieved after one session. Discover how Sound and Vibrational Healing Therapies using tuning forks can bring balance, stress relief and even pain reduction through simple methods and techniques. This modality is simple and safe to use on children and pets. Self Care Using Therapeutic Touch (3 hours) Therapeutic Touch is a holistic process which focuses on restoring balance in all aspects of the human energy field; body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is firmly rooted in a fifty plus year history of practice and research, and is presently being taught and used in over 100 countries. It is effective in eliciting the relaxation response, reducing anxiety, changing the perception of pain, facilitating the body’s natural restorative process, bringing about an improved sense of well-being, and providing comfort during distressing circumstances. This 3-hour workshop consists of practical exercises, lectures, discussions and will also be focused on self-care for the student. Although simple for all people to learn, its effects are profound on both the givers and the receivers.

Linda Terra is a holistic practitioner and retired Registered Nurse who has been involved with Therapeutic Touch since 1984 and a Recognized Teacher since 1986.
