Like nature, the world of design is forever changing. We build off of one idea to create something new and different in this endless process of development. This book is a step in that process. Exhale Yoga DVD Branding & Packaging
Description Exhale is a yoga DVD set that features Halle Berry. The two disk set offers short workouts that can be combined by the user in a number of ways in order to create their own workout routine. The name Exhale is emerged from to the relaxation and stretching involved with yoga.
Solution This DVD box set was specifically designed to reflect the stretching and flexibility of yoga. The booklet opens up to show a DVD that not only stands up, but can also be laid flat when completely opened. Merchandise includes a T-shirt, yoga pants, and a cloth yoga bag. These are all intended to promote the DVD release.

DVD case opens almost like a pop-up book. The white velum holds a DVD on both sides that can be easily accessed. When opened to a 90 degree angle, the case will stand up displaying the DVD. When opened completely, case will lie flat on table.

Sylvania Light Bulbs Branding & Packaging
Description Sylvania provides numerous variations of light bulbs across the United States and Canada. They are dedicated to products and processes that help solve global sustainability challenges and protect the environment.
Solution The colors on the boxes change from darker to lighter, along with the amount and size of the leaves on the front. This is in relation to the strength of the bulb inside. All of the packaging can be composed or recycled. The packaging also includes a pre-paid return mailing label that can be placed over the front of the box allowing the old bulb to sent back for proper disposal.

In order to ensure proper light bulb disposal, inside each package is a prepaid mailing label. This encourages the consumer to place their old bulb in the package to return it. The label can be placed on the side of the package and mailed back to Sylvania.

Descri ption The Grom Project is an architecture company based out of California. They focus on using sustainable design in their structural design.
Solution The logo was inspired by the idea of the referring to itself as a project. The design was meant to feel sturdy,while the letterhead and envelopes carry lines that go along with the idea of planning for a project. The lines relate to a sense of planning and starting point when working on a project.

Description Mishap Survival Kit is directed towards people who enjoy hiking, camping, and the great outdoors. Containing a basic supply, this kit is light weight and can assist in common and unforeseen issues faced on the trail.
Solution Mishap’ is protected from the elements due to the durable water bottle that contains all of the accessories. Keeping in mind the needs of the typical hiker, this survival kit is light weight and compact allowing for easy storage and transport.
Contains Mishap water bottle, snake bite kit, water purification tablets, waterproof matches, tweezers, small rope, assorted bandages, gauze, sterile pad, LED mini light, antiseptic cream, plastic liner with pockets, whistle and compass.

All pieces can be placed in plastic liner pockets. Plastic liner holder can then be rolled up and fit inside the Mishap water bottle. The water bottle allows for safe and easy transport.

Comfort Typographic Book
Description Comfort is a typeface inspired from a combination of three seemingly random things that share an unexpected unity. The beach, coffee and makeup. These all are often noted as a source of reassurance or ease.
Solution This typographic book features the word comfort and each letter is given its own page. Printed on transparency and layered in both it’s bold and regular version, it is then placed over related images. The book’ cover is wrapped in a soft fabric to welcome the reader.

This book contains a uniquely designed typeface. Both regular and bold are shown for the word comfort, which are displayed on transparent paper. Velum is used for the content pages, which are placed over images to create an interesting layering effect.

Description Scholarshi p America is a non-profit organization that helps students find scholarshi ps offered in their area and promotes donations to scholarshi p funds.
Solution These typographic posters each depict objects related to education, a graduation cap, an apple and text books. These images are constructed out of type. Each poster contains a different true story from reci pients stating their thanks and how the scholarshi p changed their life. This poster is intended to gain awareness to both contributors and students in need of funding for college. These posters would most likely be placed in high schools and community businesses.

Description Natur ware is environmentally friendly disposable silverware made from cornstarch and plates made from fallen leaves. All are compostable and biodegradable.
Solution Both packages are made from heavy-duty cover stock, which like the products inside, it can be composted. The silverware package is designed with a easy to open and close handle that makes carrying easier.

Ignite Typeface
Description This is a typeface created out of matches. The name Ignite was given to this typeface due to the pixel that was used to create it.
Solution Each letter of the Ignite typeface was create by curves related to the strike area of the match. The direction changes with each change in curve. The red strike area is always located at the center of the curve.

Solution This magazine holds a variety of coffee related articles. They touch on topics such as, fair trade, coffee production, the coffee house revolution, drink break downs and reci pes, coffee lingo and coffee shop ranking.

Description Tracks is a GPS tracking system for your pet. The service provides implants that allow you to monitor your pets movements by logining on to the website or phone application.
Solution When designing the layout for the site, it was very important to keep it very user friendly, and simple. The costumers using this service would vary in internet experience levels. The site offers optional upload of a pet’’s image to allow for a more personalized experience. This system is also available by using a smart phone application.

Amnesty International Ad Campaign
Description Amnesty International is a non-profit human rights organization. This ad campaign is addressing domestic violence in same sex relationshi ps.
Solution This campaign features three ads that are designed to create awareness of domestic violence in the gay and lesbian community. These ads are directed towards the general public and not just those in same sex relationshi ps. The ads feature seemingly average people who would not be viewed as -abusers on the front. The back offers a much more harsher reality of how violence often goes unseen.

The ads in this campaign would be placed at public transit spots, in addition at annual gay pride events. Due to her involvement in the gay and lesbian community, Lady Gaga would be ideal as a celebrity linked to the campaign. Door hangers would help to create awareness within the public as well.
