“Eat your head off... 2012 - Digital print, 100 x 100 cm

This illustration was an entry in eighth edition "Tapirulan Illustrators Contest". Trying to keep up appearances during the workshop, we will hold on until the buffet. On the process more than one will lose his or her head. That delicious and endless amount of food will not by any mean guarantee a relaxing lunch. We must enjoy our meal while keeping an eye on that last piece of warm broccoli. There's no room for it in our stomach but that guy by the salad bar already tried everything on the buffet, and you're not going to be less than him.

“Just the costumes are different” 2011 - Digital print This poster was an entry to the “Top 30 Positive Posters” International Poster Contest. It was displayed at “2011 Positive Posters TOP 30 Exhibition” from November at 1000 £ Bend in Melbourne, Australia. The message of the poster: There are seven billion people on the Earth and each one of us is different. We have different cultures, different point of view about life, politics, religion. This diversity gives life to the world and makes it colourful. Sadly these differences are often used to build walls between us. Everyone is the same as a human being. No matter which nationality, sexual orientation, religion or any kind of social distinction. Everyone should accept each other on the human level.

“Save Earthlings!” 2012 - Digital print, 70 x 100 cm

This poster won the “Youth prize” in “The Future We Want: Drop by Drop” UN European Ad Competition. The message of the poster: “As Noah protected the animals and plants with his ark, we should do the same. The water is our ark, because without it we can't exist. Therefore we have to save the most important element in our life.”

Iran is somehow still a very "conservative-minded" state, however, homosexuality issue affecting a kind of duality appears. Few people know that in Iran, homosexuality is punished if embraced publicly. Moral crimes perpetrators are still stoned, hanged or executed in Iran Islamic Republic. Therefore we can say that currently in Iran religion controls the state, which many believe it's not all right. I was surprised to discover that after Tailand, Iran is the country where they perform the largest number of sex change operations. Being a Muslim country, it is nevertheless notable. The surgery is allowed, and even the government will pay for half the costs of the intervention. The state is thus somehow "forcing" homosexuals, through surgery, to become transsexuals. However, we all know that homosexuality and transsexuality are completely different things. The fate of many homosexual individuals is therefore trapped between death, prison or the loss of their identity. Such information and experiences inspired me to communicate it through graphic art.

“Crossing Borders - Graphic Series, Mixed media: drypoint, digital technique, 100 x 124 cm, 2013 / This series is in progress

“Atravesando Fronteras” /Crossing Borders/ Social-artistic project in Mexico, 2013

Crossing Borders is a project focused on raising awareness through art. At the end of 2012 I applied for the ”Unemployee of the year” International Project Contest With this result I had an opportunity to do my project in Mexico about illegal migration. Illegal migration constitutes one of the biggest problems in Mexico. Thousands of persons try to escape from precarious conditions, violence, and embrace the “american dream” by getting in one of the most dangerous trips in the world. Citizens from several Central American countries as well as from South America and Mexico, leave their families and friends behind to try to get across the border of the United States. The main goal of my project was to help people understand the situation of these migrants and make some of them feel that they are not alone. Even if their decision to leave their country is tragic, I respect their choice and I don't want by any mean to meddle their decision. We were organizing a workshop in one school and one shelter for migrants in each city.

The project was divided in three phases. The first part took place in schools where one person from the shelter was telling the teenagers about the reality of illegal migrants and let them share thoughts about the topic. After that I began to show them graphics technique (drypoint) with special pressing machine. The idea was that each kid makes an artistic card for a migrant. This card will accompany him/her on his/her trip symbolizing the support of the youth of the city he/she stayed in. During the next phase we did the same workshop with the migrants in the shelters. The last part of the project is sharing the experience with more people through some exhibitions in Mexico and in different countries in Europe.

I am glad to bring the opportunity to kids for discovering new ways to express themselves through art. I also hope that this small experience helped migrants to relax at least for a few hours and tried to make them feel understood and accepted. Finally I want to share this with everyone that ignores this reality to make the world a little more human.
