Are you ready to explore the endless possibilities of this exciting industry. On our aviation programmes you will study elements in relation to roles within the airport and airline environment, from cabin crew, security, passenger service agents to air traffic control. All of our teaching staff have a wealth of up to date knowledge and experience in the industry and will guide you and give you the skills you need to stand out from the crowd. Throughout the year you’ll receive mentoring from past students who now work in the industry. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in industry-standard training such as water ditching, fire drills, conflict resolution management and first aid.

You’ll benefit from educational trips to Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Manchester Airport and more. Previous overseas visits have included New York, Dubai and Hong Kong.

DIPLOMA IN AVIATION

LEVEL 2 - 1 YEAR

WHAT WILL I DO?

You will study all aspects of this exciting industry including baggage processing, check in, dispatch, health and safety, aircraft marshalling and security. You will benefit from a mixture of theory, practical sessions, guest speakers and educational trips such as visits to British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and London Heathrow to name but a few.

YOU NEED:

Four GCSEs at grade 3-2/D-E including English and maths.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Progress to a relevant level 3 course such as the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Aviation.

SUBSIDIARY DIPLOMA IN AVIATION

LEVEL 3 - 1 YEAR

WHAT WILL I DO?

You will learn all aspects of this exciting industry including, health & safety, handling air passengers, security procedures and aviation communications. You will benefit from a mixture of theory, practical sessions, guest speakers and educational trips such as visits to British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and London Heathrow to name but a few.

YOU NEED:

A passion for the aviation industry and City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Aviation, or a minimum of four GCSEs grade 4/C or above, including maths and English.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Continue your studies by moving on to the Diploma in Aviation Level 3.

DIPLOMA IN AVIATION

LEVEL 3 - 1 YEAR

WHAT WILL I DO?

By combining theory, practical sessions, educational visits, you’ll learn everything you need to know about working in the rapidly evolving aviation industry. You will cover marketing, human resources, ramp handling, and aviation technology. Additional training elements include conflict management, first aid and links with the RAF.

YOU NEED:

Subsidiary Diploma in Aviation Level 3.

WHAT’S NEXT?

You could continue to build your knowledge by moving on to a foundation degree such as our own FdA Aviation and Tourism, or start work in the aviation industry.

If you don't already have a GCSE grade 9-4/A*-C, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.
