Maths
When studying maths, we aim to build your confidence, improve your skills and prepare you for your next steps. We have experienced tutors who can support you no matter what level you are already at. You may be a complete beginner or just want to refresh your memory and gain an up to date, nationally recognised, qualification.
FUNCTIONAL MATHS
ENTRY LEVEL 1/2 - PART-TIME
WHAT WILL I DO?
On Functional Maths you can brush up on your everyday maths skills such as managing money, calculating and measuring, reading and analysing information and working with fractions, decimals and percentages confidently.
YOU NEED:
We ask all learners to complete a short assessment to make sure they are placed on the most appropriate level.
WHAT’S NEXT?
On completion of the level 2 course you could apply for a vocational course, an Access course, GCSE maths or a level 3 maths course. The qualification at level 2 is accepted by most employers and higher education providers.
GCSE MATHS
GCSE - PART-TIME
WHAT WILL I DO?
Our tutors adopt a range of teaching methods to suit an individual’s needs as they build confidence around the GCSE maths curriculum. You will study a programme that encompasses the whole of the maths curriculum this will include; number, algebra, ratio, geometry, measures, statistics and probability. Your learning will be targeted to your starting point following diagnostic assessments.
YOU NEED:
We complete initial and diagnostic assessments with all learners to ensure suitability for the course.
WHAT’S NEXT?
GCSE Maths is required in many professions such as teaching or nursing. It can also lead to A Levels and is a good foundation for enrolling on Access to Higher Education.
GCSE MATHS (ONLINE)
GCSE - ONLINE
WHAT WILL I DO?
You will be assigned an online tutor who will be in touch with you on a weekly basis to provide tuition on a range of topics including: number, algebra, ratio, geometry, measures, statistics and probability.
YOU NEED:
All students are required to meet the required standard during assessment to determine their provisional suitability for a 1 year online GCSE course.
This will be followed by a further assessment in week 6 to identify suitability for progression to either the Foundation or Higher tier. Student tiers will be reassessed during the year in order to help students achieve.
