Designed for those with special educational needs (SEN), our Foundation Skills courses are here to help you achieve your individual goals. Working in small groups you will make new friends, develop teamwork skills and increase your confidence and motivation. All learners will develop their employability skills and get the opportunity to participate in real work experience. You will also benefit from access to a bespoke living suite that will focus on the development of independent living skills. Throughout the programme there will be a range of opportunities to take part in some great trips and you will have fun learning with our range of enterprise, performing arts and digital courses.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS AWARD CHOICES PATHWAY

1 YEAR

• ENTRY LEVEL 1/2/3 • LEVEL 1/2 WHAT WILL I DO?

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and confidence. As well as developing your understanding and practical skills, you will have the chance to work towards your personal goals, improve your employability skills and then put those skills into practice.

You will work in small groups and through supported trips you will take part in a range of practical activities, recording your progress along the way. You will get the chance to take part in a range of enterprise activities, enrichment projects and you could take part in a work or vocational placement.

YOU NEED:

There are no entry requirements for this course, just a short interview with the course leader.

WHAT’S NEXT?

You might choose to continue your studies by moving on to the next level or you might choose to progress to a vocational course. Alternatively, you could move on to a supported internship or go into supported employment.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS AWARD MEDIA/IT/PERFORMING ARTS PATHWAY

• ENTRY LEVEL 3 • LEVEL 1/2 WHAT WILL I DO?

You will develop your knowledge and skills in media and IT and have the chance to work with performing arts specialist to develop your personal goals, improve your confidence and employability skills. You will work in small groups and take part in a range of practical activities while recording your progress along the way. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a work placement.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS AWARD CATERING PATHWAY

1 YEAR

• ENTRY LEVEL 3 • LEVEL 1/2 WHAT WILL I DO?

You will develop your knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition. Throughout the programme you will also apply your knowledge by preparing a range of dishes in a kitchen environment. You will gain confidence in the kitchen and record your progress along the

way. You will be required to complete activities throughout the year and record your work in workbooks which will make up your learning file. You will get the chance to take part in a range of enterprise activities, enrichment projects and you could take part in a work or vocational placement.
