You will take part in workshops and benefit from guest lecturers and choreographers and get the chance to perform in professional venues.

PERFORMING AND PRODUCTION ARTS

LEVEL 2 – 1 YEAR WHAT WILL I DO?

As part of a working production company, you will gain first-hand experience of the skills and understanding needed for a career in the wider creative industries. You will study nine units covering a variety of acting, film and TV production, dance/musical theatre and make-up for live and recorded media skills. This rare blend of learning gives you opportunities to explore a wider range of specialist skills and abilities.

YOU NEED:

A performing or production arts level 1 qualification or equivalent, or four GCSEs grade 3.

WHAT’S NEXT?

You will progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts or Production Arts.

PERFORMING ARTS (ACTING FOR STAGE & SCREEN)

LEVEL 3 – 2 YEARS WHAT WILL I DO?

This extensive course specialises in both live and screen acting, and offers exciting, challenging, professional and handson training to prepare you for a career in theatre, film, and TV acting or related professions. Learning in our theatre and dance studio, as well as on location, you’ll gain awareness of technical/production skills, directing, teaching/facilitation and freelance employment, to make you shine in this competitive industry. This course can be worth the equivalent of three A levels at grade 9.

YOU NEED:

Level 2 Diploma in Performance and Production or four GCSEs grade 9-4 including maths and/or English or a merit in a relevant level 2.

WHAT’S NEXT?

You can progress onto our FdA Acting or apply for a programme at another university, drama school or conservatoire. If you don’t already have a GCSE grade 9-4/A*C, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.

PERFORMING ARTS (DANCE)

LEVEL 3 – 2 YEARS WHAT WILL I DO?

Develop specific industry skills in jazz, ballet, contemporary, commercial, tap and lyrical, as well as develop academic skills through project based work. There will be opportunity to be part of live performances, filmed dance works and to learn choreographic principles alongside technique. This course can be worth the equivalent of three A levels at grade 9.

YOU NEED:

Level 2 Diploma in Performance and Production or four GCSEs grade 9-4 including maths and/or English or a merit in a relevant level 2.

WHAT’S NEXT?

You can progress onto our FdA Dance or apply for a programme at another university, drama school or conservatoire.

PERFORMING ARTS (MUSICAL THEATRE)

LEVEL 3 – 2 YEARS WHAT WILL I DO?

This course offers an exciting stepping stone in performance training by developing strong skills in singing, dancing and acting. You will learn through intensive rehearsal and production processes from highly trained teachers and often industry professionals. This practical course will give you the opportunity to study three disciplines, dance, drama and music. This course can be worth the equivalent of three A levels at grade 9. We have excellent success rates in terms of student progression to the country’s leading stage schools.

YOU NEED:

Level 2 Diploma in Performance and Production or four GCSEs grade 9-4 including maths and/or English or a merit in a relevant level 2.

You can progress onto our FdA Musical Theatre or apply for a programme at another university, drama school or conservatoire.
