Ethical Homewares I don't know about you but I try and make my home my retreat. A sanctuary from the busy world. For this reason, I truly enjoy surrounding myself with beautiful sustainable pieces that calm the soul. Our Afriwares range is hand crafted by ladies at the Kind Mothers Project in Uganda. The Kind Mothers Project is a group made up by 30 women in Kampala, Uganda. By selling their handicrafts these mothers are able to care for their families and send their children to school. You won't regret adding a little piece of Africa to your home

Woven Bowls & Platters BY: THE KIND MOTHERSÂ PROJECT
These traditional baskets are hand-woven by basket weavers in the Kind Mothers Project in Uganda. They are made in a traditional way from raffia palm tightly woven around a core of banana leaf stem. Baskets come in traditional black and earthy tones, or bright colour patterns. The patterns each represent an element of traditional African culture.
They are the perfect accent for any room of the house. Our beautiful homewares are brought into Australia by Afribeads. AfriBeads are part of the growing trend that is reinventing everyday products to be sustainable, ethical, and rich in heart and style. AfriBeads is a member of the Fair Trade Association. (Aus & NZ).
The coloured baskets are traditionally given in Uganda as gifts on special occasions and can be used for fruit, bread or decoration.

We can change this by simply using our own non disposable bags. These market bags are hand woven using recycled plastic straps from packaging. they are a great accessory for shopping, the beach or storage at home.

Easy Afric Designs is a socially motivated fair trade organisation based in Kampala, Uganda. Their products are brought into Australia by Afribeads. Easy Afric Designs hand craft items mainly using ‘BARKCLOTH’. Barkcloth is a unique international cultural heritage fabric, sustainably harvested by hand from the ‘Mutuba’ tree (Fig tree) in Uganda. Easy Afric Designs are revitalising the Ugandan eco-cultural heritage fabric to sustain livelihoods. They are committed to high standards of relationships, an environment of respect, integrity and honesty, encouraging innovation and excellence, and nurturing a sense of responsibility for humanity and the environment.
