Introduction The first HR Community Conference & Awards will take place on May 14th 2015, organized by Ethos Media S.A. and Skywalker.gr, two companies whose Greek identity and culture define the high quality of their services. Their originality, broad know-how, sense of responsibility, personal relationship with their clients and their love for their work are the characteristic advantages where their collaboration is based, resulting in the creation of the HR Community Conference & Awards. The HR Community Conference & Awards includes: 1. The HR Community Awards 2015 ceremony The HR Community Awards 2015 ceremony will be the crowning event of the HR Community Conference and will take place on May 14th, during a gala dinner. During the ceremony, a total of 28 awards in 4 categories will be presented. The HR Community Conference & Awards 2015 aims to constitute the meeting point of the HR community professionals and their potential strategic partners (organizations, businesses, government representatives, academics). In this way, an active team will be created, which will re-define the goals and set the priorities for determining the role of the HR Manager as the strategic regulator of the new business ecosystem.

HR Community Conference We welcome you to the era of challenges and of the re-definition of the HR Management. Today more than ever before, businesses, whether they are big, small or medium-sized, need to address the changes that are taking place on all levels of the political, social and economical field. Furthermore, they need to intensify their efforts so as to comprehend these changes and find their place in the current competitive environment. The HR Community Conference aims to provide the necessary assistance to businesses during this difficult transition period, as the changes they are going through are constant and unpredictable. Hence, the HR Community Conference’s mission is to debate, research and determine the HR Community’s new role within the business framework and to think of ways to establish a new balance between the technocratic re-structuring of businesses and the necessity of the individual’s healthy personal and professional growth. Its ultimate goal is the contribution in the reinforcement, viability and development of the business world. In these circumstances and in the interesting times we live in, the organization of a conference concerning all HR Management professionals is viewed as a necessity. This conference will conceive and lay anew the foundations for innovative discussions and actions with the ultimate goal to re-determine the substantial role of HR as creator of new strategies and business perspectives.

Overview Panel 1: “Architecture of the work environment in Greece” Suggested discussion topics: • The jigsaw puzzle of the labor market in Greece during the crisis • Work models and business effectiveness • Flexicurity • Social Collaborative Partnership (in Greek: ΚΟΙΝ.Σ.ΕΠ.) model • Outplacement results • Buyouts-mergers: how do they affect the work environment? In this panel, institutions and businesses will jointly discuss the new work landscape in our country, as it has been configured in the last years. Cutbacks in costs and personnel, voluntary terminations of service, flexible work, intense competition leading to company buyouts and mergers, job insecurity and increase of unemployment rates are just a few of the pieces that compose the complicated jigsaw puzzle of labor in Greece. The mission of the HR Community Conference is to utilize modern thinking tools, methods and techniques in order to analyze this situation and contribute to its restructuring.

From mediator to in-house business effectiveness consultant (business partner): this may be the new role of the HR Manager, in order to serve Greek entrepreneurship. To achieve this, the professionals of this field will need to develop complex problem-solving and decision-making skills. Academics and executives from various organizations and companies will share their insight and suggest solutions regarding these skills and the new role of the HR Manager.
Videos with the title: “Proud to be HR” on Human Resources issues, produced by professionals and students The participants will be shown videos produced by the HR departments of various companies, which aim to highlight the practices, methods and innovations they are proud of. Their goal is to present creative ideas and be an inspiration to the whole HR Management community. All submitted videos will be uploaded to the Conference’s web page and shown during the HR Community Conference & Awards. In addition, students representing the academic community will have the opportunity to share their lively perspective on how they view and what they expect from the new HR Community.
Panel 3: “HR ecosystem: tools for effective HR Management” Suggested discussion topics: • Technology at the service of the HR Community: is it an end in itself or a supplementary tool? • Criteria for selection and evaluation of Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) • HRMS: payroll, working hours, attracting applicants, personnel selection, evaluation, talent management, education and training, employees’ self-service. The improvement in obtaining, processing and evaluating information is a necessary requirement for every business activity. This necessity becomes even more evident when it comes to Human Resources Management, where information needs to be objective and aimed at correct decision-making. In this panel academics, market executives and specialists will analyze the advantages of Human Resources Management Systems and their harmonization with the constantly changing business needs.

HR Community Awards 2015 The crowning event of the HR Community Conference will be the HR Community Awards 2015 ceremony. One of the main goals of the Awards is to attract participations from HR departments of companies which have implemented successful or innovative practices, methods and strategies in various categories, such as: Creative Working Environment, Personnel Retention, CSR, Change Management etc. The best team will be awarded and given the opportunity to promote their company image.
HR Community Awards 2015 Categories There are four main awards categories, each of which has various sub-categories. In addition, the following three honorary distinctions will be presented: • 1st Distinction: Leading Personality • 2nd Distinction: Leading Organization A company may be nominated in more than one sub-categories. The organizers have the right to combine or modify the awards categories at their discretion, according to the number of nominees for each category.
The awards categories are the following: 1. Culture 1a. Creative Working Environment Award This category is about the successful practices which encourage the employees to express ideas and propose innovative and creative solutions on problems that concern all business sectors. 1b. Personnel Retention Award This award will be presented to the the company with the highest personnel retention and loyalty rates. 1c. Change Management Award This category examines effective change management practices and the implementation of methods aiming at the highest level of the personnel’s stability and adaptation to new working conditions. 1d. Professional – Personal Life Balance Award It is about the balance between the professional and personal life of the employees which leads to an increase in job satisfaction and productivity.

1e. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award This category acknowledges corporate practices which regard people and the society as a priority of the business world.
2. Practices 2a. Innovative Practice Award This category examines the originality and novelty of ideas that have been successfully designed and implemented. 2b. Hygiene & Safety Award It acknowledges the safest and most hygienic working environment and the company which offers the best health benefits to the employees. 2c. Motivational & Benefit Policy Award In the current adverse economic conditions, where salaries are being reduced constantly, the need for motivational policies and the cultivation of mutual trust and understanding between companies and employees becomes more and more pressing. This category examines the creation and implementation of motivating and job satisfaction programs. 2d. Effective Crisis Management Award It acknowledges the most effective method by which HR Departments dealt with a major event that threatened to harm the organisation. 2i Cross-border Human Resource Management Award It evaluates the implementation of Human Resources Management strategy designed by Greek companies but successfully applied to subsidiaries, which are located abroad, with the necessary adjustments .

Deadlines for entry The HR Community Awards 2015 will be open for entries until 4 May 2015. The three finalists per Award category will be announced by the organizers on 6 May 2015. The conference participants will take part in the voting procedure for the winners. The Award Winners and two Runners-up for each Award will be announced at the HR Community Awards ceremony, which will take place on May 14 2015.
Rules of Entry • The Awards are open to all companies with business activities in Greece, independently of their size or business sector. • Nominations may be submitted by any member of an organization or company, provided that they have the approval of the General Manager or the Human Resources Manager or any other competent Manager of the organization or company. • The nominations are confidential. Only the shortlisted companies and the names of the winners in each category will be announced. • The participating companies or organizations or their representatives or any person submitting an entry accept that the nominations are submitted by them in compliance with the legal provisions in force and with the present terms, exclusively for the HR Community Awards organized by Skywalker.gr and Ethos Media. • Every participant is deemed solely liable for the precision of the information provided by him/ her toward any third party and especially Skywalker.gr, Ethos Media and all members of relevant committees.

• Skywalker.gr, Ethos Media S.A. and the Organizing Committee of the HR Community Awards reserve the right to disclose information relevant to the nominations and the promotion of the event, such as number of entries, participating companies, categories of programs or activities. • Any participating company or organization that wishes for certain information regarding its entry to remain undisclosed, should expressly mention so on the application form. • The organizers reserve the right to discontinue the event at any stage, as well as to withdraw or merge awards categories.
Agreement The ‘Rules of Entry’ for the HR Community Awards 2015, as defined here, shall govern in event of conflict. You agree to be bound by the present Rules and Terms by submitting an entry for the Awards.
Awards Deadline and Closing Date The closing date for entries to the HR Community Awards 2015 is May 4th 2015 at 5:00 pm Greek time.

Multiple Entries There is no maximum number of entries permitted from a single organisation. You may submit as many different entries to as many categories as you choose. However, each individual entry is liable to a separate entry fee, although we are pleased to offer discounts for multiple entries for the HR Community Awards 2015 (See below).

Entry priviledges Each company having registered a first entry (€300) is also entitled to two admissions to the HR Community Conference 2015 which will take place the same day as the HR Community Awards 2015 Ceremony (14 May). In case an organization is shortlisted for an Award, it will be entitled to one free seat at the Award Ceremony.
Payment & Closing Date Complete entries must be received and paid in full by the closing date in order to be considered. Entry fees paid by international money order must be received, together with the completed entry form, prior to or by the deadline of 4 May 2015 (5:00 pm Greek time). Entry fees are payable for each entry submitted, as above. One entry is defined as a submission of a nomination for one of the sub-category. Entry fees are non-refundable. When making your payment, please ensure you note the details of the award categories and/ or subcategories for which you are submitting a nomination. Entries will not be processed until full payment has been received. Supporting Materials The following information is needed for each submission: • Details of the company submitting the entry • Short description (up to 300 words) of the HR practice (may be used publicly) • Detailed description (up to 1,000 words) of the specific goals of the nominated HR practice or policy (confidential – it will not be published) You may send supplementary information but please keep these relevant to your entry. Supporting information could also consist of independent information or data, extracts from analysts’ reports, testimonials or press articles, graphics etc. to support your entry. Please do make sure this supporting information is succinct and clear as well as relevant. Advertising materials will not be taken into consideration by the Jury. You need to have permission to use any third party information and ensure that you are not in breach of any third party’s intellectual property rights. Video: In case you want to submit a video as part of the supporting materials, please provide a URL link to your video (e.g. via YouTube, Vimeo or other public, English language video platforms) on the entry form and please make sure you provide a password in case such is needed. Web pages: If within your supporting materials or entry you refer the Judges to a website, please include a URL which is to very specific information relating to your entry up to three web pages, as the Judges will not have time to search websites looking for the pertinent information.
Judging Process Entries will be judged on the basis of the information provided to the independent Judging Panel on the entry form and additional supporting materials where required (see above). Details of the Judging Panel meetings will not be disclosed and correspondence regarding validation or qualification of entries or the decision of the Judges will not be communicated to Ethos Media S.A. and Skywalker.gr. The Judges and the Organizers reserve the right to combine or edit categories at their discretion based on the number of entries for each category. The Organizers also reserve the right to stop or cancel, at any time, temporarily or permanently, the award process without prior notice.

Confidentiality and intellectual property rights Entries will be treated by the Organizers as strictly confidential. Only details of the award winners and the two runners up or the three finalists in each sub-category will be published prior to or after the presentation. However, please note that entries are judged by external and independent journalists, analysts and many others for whom we cannot guarantee confidentiality, so please do not submit entries or supplementary material that you do not wish to have in the public domain. All entrants and winners accept that the Organizers will communicate about the HR Community Awards 2015 in public and that this communication may include reference to entrants and/ or winners.
Winners The decision of the Judges is final. Only information included in entry forms and supplementary materials will be taken into consideration; no correspondence addressed directly to the Judging Panel will be accepted. The finalists will be notified prior to the HR Community Conference & Awards 2015 which will take place on May 14th 2015. The HR Community Awards 2015 Ceremony will take place in the evening of the same day.
Promotion By entering the HR Community Awards 2015, the participating companies expressly agree that the Organizers may use the specific text, video and visual materials submitted with their entry forms in presentations, reports for publication, web sites, media events as well as any other form of promotional/ publicity materials.
