The male is smaller, has elytra yellowish brown and black shield. They feed on pollen and the flower parts. Leptinotarsa decemlineata decemlineata Leptinotarsa Czech translation is Mandelinka bramborovรก. It is up to 12 mm long and 8 mm wide. Grown up male and also female Mandelinka has usually yellow body with black stripes. They feed on potato foliage. Before it comes with potatoes to Europe, Leptinotarsa decemlineata was living just in Mexico. Now it is quite common insect here. In many cases it damages crop.
