Not a lot of people know about the existence of a Public Library in Surabaya, not even locals. This project aim is to draw more public attention by reintroducing a more modern image of the public library, make people aware of its existence in Surabaya, and gain popularity. The design style is modern and minimalist, following the most recent design trend in Surabaya. To emphasize more about Surabaya, I applied Surabaya’s symbolic monuments as its logogram. To make it more official, seriff typeface is used as its logotype. The logo is applicable for the office stationery set, and the merchandises that can be additional touch points for the library members or visitors.

Honey Henny is a newly established homemade bakery, based in Surabaya, Indonesia. Its product varies from cakes, cupcakes, to cookies. The design requested is simple, minimalistic with feminine vibe. It is the reason of choosing pink and white as its major color. The logogram is a combination between house and oven, represents homemade bakery. Besides logotype and logogram, this project also includes packaging canvas tote bag, name card, and label sticker.

PT. Abadi Anugrah Putera is a company that sells engineering tools and one of the first distributors of Norton grinding wheels and industrial abrasive products in Indonesia. Founded and based in Surabaya since 1991, the company has expanded their business from a city scope to a national scope, reaching several regions of Indonesia. The key points that are implemented for this company branding are industrial, solidness, and trustworthiness.

"purest ingredient, total protection"

NO.UV is a fictional product created as JKR Juice 2016 Competition entry. The brief is about creating a brand universe of an extraterrestrial water product or space water. Why NO.UV? Since the water is come from space, there are unlimited possibilities of what this water might capable of. In this case, this I presume this water is radiation resistant.



This are some examples of how the brand is applied in various merchandises, and promotional items. Since the product is UV Resistant, the merchandises choosen is those that mostly used outdoor, things that have high probability of being exposed under the sun. For example, Skateboard, and Sunglasses.

Advertising media would be billboard that can reacts to sun UV rays. In this page, it showcase the billboard before and after interacting with sunlight / UV rays. The color will start to appear under the sun while the logo turning white, showing that the product is resistants to UV rays.

Surabaya is the second most populated city in indonesia, therefore there are a lot of culinary places that can be visited, from cafes, bistros, eateries, to fine dining restaurants. Here we, Raffles Institute of Higher Edu. students, presents a mini culinary reference magazine that covers happening and high-end culinary places in Surabaya, MEJA (in Indonesia it means Table). The design and photography style is inspired from several magazines such as Kinfolk and Cereal Magazine. For the contents, we try to include as complete as possible, from food and beverage ratings, service ratings, brief introduction about the place and commentaries by our team members. We also include the opening hours, locations, and favourite dishes of each cafes, eateries, or restaurants.

Manifesto is something that can describe how our mind works, it describes our point of view about some ideas, or even our own life principles. This manifesto is mainly describing about me, my point of view as a graphic design student. The style is more like a simple diary, using handwritting font-type and not to defined lines to make it more natural and keep it casual. The main concept of this manifesto is ‘Black Sheep’, which simply describes my current situation in the inner-circle of my family, where I am the only one that take the path to be a graphic designer. Through this manifesto, I try to describe the ups and downs as a graphic design student living with a family that sometimes doesn’t understand our ideas or point of view, how to cope up with the differences and how to keep myself motivated despite of my surroundings.

Travels in Japan is not as easy as it looks, since most of native Japanese are not too fluent in English and there are so many customs, rules, and cultures that foreigners are not familiar with. Not knowing those things may cause discomfort during travelling activity. With this easy to understand and simple travel book, travellers are introduced to relevant informations that they must know and do during their travel to Japan. This guide book was an assignment for page layouting module. The design style was adapted from Japanese modern design style, and using Tokyo Tower, one of Japan’s most famous site, for the cover page and using red as accentuate color to make it looks more “Japan�.

Beatniks journal is a set of journal cover design, created as Design & Subculture module as well as entry for NIPPECRAFT Design Competition 2015. The concept behind the name and its illustration is inspired from Beatniks in 1950s. The reason why Panda is choosen as the main character is to show that beatniks traces also can be found in Asia during late 1950s to 1960s. There are 3 illustration submitted, each represents countries where beatniks traces can be found. First, Singapore representing Asia, then New York where beatniks originally came from, and lastly London.

Coca cola is a well-known flavored and carbonated drinks brand. It is available in various sizes and various type of packaging, ranging from canned, to bottled options. This project is about a campaign that held by Coca Cola Company, raising the issue of war. Related to nowadays conflicts and wars, Coca Coca Company wants to raise awareness about the importance of peace, and humanity through the illustration. The profits earned from this special edition product will be used to support communities in the war zone that are strugling to giving aid for war victims and war torn countries. The special edition has 3 different design, available for normal canned coke, and customised bottle.

The butcher is a fictional British alternative rock band, inspired by The Beatles. The purpose of this project is to introduce this band first album. The design mood is mixture of classic and gothic tone, using gothic typeface and old newspaper template, to make it looks like a headline. Symbolizing that this band is happening and impactful.

Flight Safety Card contains very importants information during emergency situations, but mostly, people is not aware about its importance and just ignore it. This project is a collaboration project for Alliance Airlines competition submission. The purpose of the redesign is to make a more modern and simple look for Alliance Airlines Fokker 100 Flight Guideline, by redesigning the layout, as well as simplify the illustration style.

iSee Foundation Taiwan is a government-supported tourism board that encourage people from around the world to visit Taiwan. The competition is hosted by Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC). The brief is to create a poster or set about Taiwan, with assigned concept ‘Embrace’. The meaning behind this poster is in order to embrace or love something, we need to know first, taking a closer look of what kind of country it is, the culture, the customs, the people, and many other aspects.

Named after the famous French printing and type producing family and founded in Paris, Didot typeface represent professionality and at the same time elegance. This A3 poster is try to give a little touch of Didot origins and also to show its elegant Parisian style, simple, effortless, but gorgeous. Using Didot typeface as the main highlight, and combination of Red, White, and Blue color that represent France flag colour.

Pedigree is one of the very well-known dog food brands worldwide. It is quite popular among pet owners’ in Indonesia, and its products quality are considerably trustworthy. The project was about making poster set for Pedigree’s event, ‘Dogs Rule’. The event purpose is to raise Indonesian target market awareness about the importance of taking care of pets’ well-being, and at the same time also want to promote Pedigree’s products.

Outsmart is an integrated application that aims to help and ecourage bullying victims and bystanders to make some useful actions instead of just stay quite and do nothing. This application is distributed only through assigned school and institution, not for wide-public, to prevent bullies take their step on further actions. The design style is inspired from flat-design, and emphasizes more in simplicity. To make more suitable for its young target audiences, yellow is choosen as main color. The logogram is a light bulp, represents ideas and inspiration to cope up bullies and heal those who are bullied together through this app services.

IMPACTORS! is an mobile application that addressing about political apathy issue among youth and adult in Indonesia. The name IMPACTORS! itself originated from the word ‘impact’ that means ‘a marked effect or influence’. The concept here is to educate, make connection, and contribute through ideas and movements for a better nation, a better Indonesia. This apps is basically a focussed social media, it allows people to chat, to read newsletter or see other relevant media, to express their ideas and most importantly, to create connections. IMPACTORS! has a special feature which allows people to vote online during elections. Impactors will co-work with Indonesian government in terms of valid database for those who are valid to elect. This feature eventually can help Indonesian government to solve the low voting numbers problem.

Board & Brew is a conceptual cafe that provides a new kind of leisure place for both young-adult and adult, where they can go ‘analog’, relax and bond through board games. This cafe also intended to play a role as a platform to repopularize board games amongst current modern and advanced society.

Fuchsia represents the food, orange represents the game, tosca represents space or the place itself.



ILLUSTRATIONS WALL ART

These are three main illustration which elements are used thoroughly for Board & Brew branding elements and brand universe. The illustration style is inspired from modernist artworks, using colorful semiretro tone to enhance the “fun” feeling, and basic shapes to make it more modern and minimalistic, as well as convey the meaning of ‘back to basic’, inviting people to play analog games in this digitally advanced era.
