About ATA Membership Catalogue III-rd Edition Katalogu i anëtarëve të ATA-s është publikimi më i rëndësishëm i Shoqatës Shqiptare të Turizmit - ATA dhe është botuar tashmë dy herë që prej themelimit te saj. Ky dokument është pjesë e paketës së materialeve të përgatitura nga stafi i ATA-s për të gjithë anëtarët si dhe për publikun më gjerë. Koncepti i Katalogut të Anëtarëve është përgatitur nga Gerd Hesselmann, President Nderi i ATA-s, dhe shërbeu si udhëzues për përgatitjen e botimit të tretë. Ndryshe nga botimet e mëparshme, edicioni 2012-2013 është përgatitur në dy gjuhë dhe krahas promovimit të anetarëve të ATA-s, shërbeu si mjet për promovimin e partnerëve e mbështetësve të shoqatës, shërbimeve të reja e përfitimeve nga anëtarësimi. Anëtarët me të drejta të plota përfitojnë profil të plotë të botuar në këtë dokument së bashku me logon nën rajonin e sektorin përkatës. Ky dokument shpërndahet gjatë ngjarjeve të rëndësishme kombëtare dhe ndërkombëtare të turizmit si, panaire dhe konferenca, si dhe në një gamë të gjerë institucionesh brenda e jashtë vendit. ATA falenderon te gjithe anetare dhe partneret qe mbeshteten kete publikim.

Rreth Katalogut te Anetaresise se ATA Edicioni i III-rd ATA Members’ Catalogue is by far the most important publication of the Albanian Tourism Association - ATA and it has been already published twice since association’s founding. This document is part of the deliverables prepared by the staff of the ATA Office for all the members and the wider public. The concept of Members’ Catalogue was prepared by Gerd Hesselmann, ATA President of Honor and it served as a guide for the preparation of the III-rd publication. Different from the previous publications, the 2012- 2013 edition is prepared in two languages and besides promoting ATA’s members it served as a tool for the promotion of partners and supporters, new services and benefits from the membership. Members in full rights benefit a complete profile published in this document along with the logo under the pertinent region and sector. This document is distributed during important international and national tourism events such as fairs and conferences and will be delivered to a wide range of institutions in and out of the country. ATA thanks all the members and partners that supported this publication.

Te nderuar kolege Vitet kalojne shume shpejt dhe tashme jo pak nga ne jane ne fund te dekades se dyte te eksperiences dhe kontributit ne fushen e turizmit. Sot, me shume se kurre se bashku ne kemi nje mundesi per te ndare nje pervoje jo te vogel midis nesh, vite suksesesh, veshtiresish, e zhvillimesh qe na japin te gjitha mundesite te analizojme e te gjejme zgjidhe te reja ne turizem. Periudha ne te cilen ndodhemi nuk eshte aspak e thjeshte. Kriza ekonomike nderkombetare, situatat ne rajonin afrikan, konkurrenca e rajonit, dinamika e zhvillimit teknologjik qe shoqeron fushen tone duhet te na bejne me te ndergjegjshem per sfidat tona. Tranzicioni shoqeror dhe ekonomik i vendit tone, problemet dhe situatat e krijuara nga zhvillimi dinamik kerkojne nga ne vemendje dhe pergjegjshmeri. Ne industrine tone gabimet nuk kane munguar e ne disa raste nuk kane qene te vogla. Mosdija dhe indiferenca ka dhene efektet e saj, por padyshim kemi dhe mjaft zhvillime pozitive Bota e sherbimeve te turizmit eshte plot me ngjyra. Tashme duhet te jemi te gjithe te ndergjegjesuar se e ardhmja nuk eshte e thjeshte, por ne kemi se bashku ne dore mundesite qe brezat e ardhshem dhe femijet tane te na vleresojne. ATA, shoqata profesionale dhe perfaqesuese e Industrise se Turizmit me eksperiece 16 vjecare ne misionin e saj kerkon nga te gjithe te bashkojme forcat e te krijojme nje institucion ne cilin te kontribojme profesionalisht e te jemi aktore kyesore ne te gjitha vendimarrjet qe kane te bejne me te ardhmen e industrise sone. Te gjithe ne aktoret kryesore te industrise turistike si nje familje e madhe le te bashkojme vlerat tona per te miren e interesave te perbashketa e per tu perballur me detyrimet e sfidat qe kerkojne bashkepunimin tone. Une besoj se kjo eshte e ardhmja!

Dear Colleagues The years go by very fast and many of us are already at the end of the second decade of their experience and contribution in the field of tourism. Today, more than ever, we have an opportunity to share not a small experience, among us, many years of successes, difficulties, developments that promt us with the whole range of possibilities to analyze and look for new resolutions for the tourist industry. The time period in which we are operating currently is not at all that simple. International economic crisis, the current situation in the African region, the competitiveness of the region, the dynamics of technological development that go along with our industry, should make us more concious of our challenges. Economic and social transition of our country, the problems and the circumstances generated as the result of the dynamic development, require full attention and accountability from all of us. In our industry, there have been not a few missteps and in some cases they were not minor blunders. Ignorance and indifference has had its own effects, but obviously overall, we have had also positive developments. The world of tourist services is full of colours. Nowadays we all need to be mindful that the future is not easy, but together, we have possibilities at hand to act properly so that the future generations and our children appreciate the outcome of our actions. ATA, as a professional association and representative of the tourist industry, with 16 years of experience, in the fulfillment of its mission, urges all the industry players to join their forces to foster an institution in which all of us, contribute professionally and become the main participants in the decision-making process, that will impact the future of our industry. Let us, the main stakeholders in the tourist industry, united like a large family, put together our values for the benefit of common interest and fulfill our obligations to face challenges that require our cooperation. I believe that this is our future!

Pse ATA / Why ATA Arsyet pse sektori i turizmit meriton vemendjen e sektorit publik ne te gjitha nivelet eshte se turizmi kontribuon ndjeshem jo vetem ne ekonomine Shqiptare por edhe ne shoqeri. Megjithate, perfitimet nga turizmi arrihen vetem fale bashkëpunimit të ngushtë midis sektorit privat dhe atij publik, te kuptuarit te nevojave qe sektori privat ka për sektorin publik dhe anasjelltas, si dhe permbushjes se pergjegjesive respektive për detyrimet dhe kontributet e tyre në zhvillimin e turizmit.

Eshtë përgjegjësi e ATA-s të identifikoje, përcaktoje dhe paraqes nevojat e sektorit ligjvënësve dhe qeverisë si përfaqësuesja e përbashkët dhe kompetente e të gjithë sektorit privat të turizmit shqiptar. ATA është në gjendje të ofrojë kontributet e nevojshme dhe të japë shërbime efektive për anëtarët e saj. It is the responsibility of ATA to identify, define, and present the needs of the sector to lawmakers and the government as the joint and competent representation of the whole Albanian private tourism sector. ATA is able to supply needed contributions and to render effective services to its members. However to stay on track and to realize the benefits of tourism, ATA needs the support and contributions not only of its members but also of many stakeholders.

Rreth Shoqates / About the Association ATA është themeluar në Prill 2008 duke u përballur me mangësitë e një përfaqësimi kompetent dhe të plotë të sektorit privat të turizmit. Për të mbështetur bizneset e anëtarëve, ATA lobon per te krijuar kushte të favorshme dhe ofron shërbime të cilat i orientojnë keto biznese drejt produkteve e shërbime te nje cilësie të lartë në turizëm, manaxhimi efektiv të biznesit nga një staf i mirëtrajnuar dhe rrjedhimisht të ardhurave në rritje. ATA aktualisht ka mbi 300 anetare ne mbare vendin prej te cileve afersisht 145 jane ne Sektorin e Hoteleve. Koncepti i krijimit të ATA-s u bazua në 400 intervista më biznese të vogla dhe te mesme nga sektori i turizmit si: hoteleri, restorante, kompani transporti, agjentë, etj. Prej këtyre intervistave u identifikuan nevojat në sektorin e turizmit, si dhe struktura e duhur kompetente për ti përballuar këto. Fakt është që sektori privat duhet të luaj një rol aktiv në zhvillimin e mëtejshëm të industrisë së turizmit në Shqipëri. Vizioni për të ardhmen, prezantimi i misionit, si dhe qëllimet u aprovuan nga Asambleja e ATA-s në Prill 2008. Asambleja e Pergjitheshme themeluese e mbajtur ne Prill 2008 vendosi krijimin e nje koncepti kolonash = sektoresh. Anetaresia e ATA-s eshte e ndertuar ne baze te sektoreve dhe rajoneve. ATA eshte partner kompetent i sektorit publik ne zhvillimin e turizmit, monitoron dhe kontribuon per kete zhvillim, rrit ndergjegjesimin e publikut dhe administrates per turizmin dhe mbron interesat e industrise se turizmit. Misioni i ATA-s eshte qe te funksionoje si nje shoqate kompetente e profesionale ne menyre qe te sherbeje si zeri i vetem i industrise se turizmit, per ti siguruar keshtu klime te favorshme biznesi sektorit privat te turizmit dhe ti jape sherbime te efektshme anetareve te cilet perfitojne permiresim te rezultatit te biznesit. Misioni mundeson krijimin e kushteve te pershtatshme per indistrine shqiptare te turizmit dhe rritjen e konkurrueshmerise te produktit shqiptar ne tregun nderkombetar. Anetaret e ATA-s i besojne shoqates misionin lobues dhe mbrojtes te interesave te tyre ndersa mund te marrin prej saj sherbime te zhvillimit te produktit per te rritur cilesine e ofertes se tyre. Mbeshtetje marketing iu ofrohet anetareve prej ATA-s ndersa shoqata arrin te realizoje kerkime tregu te cilat ua vendos ne dispozicion anetareve. Ofrohen gjithashtu Sherbime konsulence dhe mbeshtetje ne zhvillimin e burimeve njerezore, trainime si dhe gjetje fondesh per sherbime dhe veprimtari. • ATA ka ne pronesi dhe operon Marken e Cilesise Authentic Albania, te vetmet standarde cilesie per njesite akomoduese shqiptare si dhe Cmimin Shqiptar te Turizmit, skeme e cilesise per individe dhe organizata. • ATA eshte anetare e Keshillit Konsultativ te Sektorit Privat te Turizmit -KKSPT prane Ministrise se Turizmit. • ATA eshte anetare themeluese e Alemaces Ballkanike te Shoqatave Hoteliere -BAHA. Baha eshte anetare e IHRA dhe EMRF.

ATA was established in April 2008 dealing with the shortcomings of a competent and comprehensive representation of the private sector of tourism. To support member businesses, ATA creates favorable conditions and offers services that guide these businesses to a high quality product, tourism services, and effective business management by a well-trained staff and increasing income. ATA currently counts more than 300 members countrywide, with 145 members in the hotel sector. The concept of creating ATA was based on 400 interviews small and medium businesses from the tourism sector, such as: hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, agents, etc. From these interviews was to identify needs in the tourism sector, as well as the proper structure competent to deal with these. The fact is that the private sector should play an active role in the further development of the tourism industry in Bangladesh. Vision for the future, the introduction of the mission, and goals were approved by the ATA Assembly in April 2008. The general constituent assembly in April 2008 has decided to establish a pillar=sector concept. ATA membership is structured according to sectors and regions. ATA is a competent partner for the public sector in the tourism development, monitors and contributes to this development, increases public and administration awareness of tourism and advocates in the interest of the tourism industry. ATA’s mission is to function as a competent, professional association so as to serve as the unique voice of the tourism industry, thus ensuring favorable framework conditions for the private tourism sector and render effective services to its members which will improve their business outcome. The mission strives to enable optimal conditions for the Albanian tourism industry and works to increase the competitiveness of Albanian tourism on the international market. Members can count on the association advocating and lobbying on their behalf, and can receive product development services to improve their service offerings. Marketing assistance is available, and ATA makes market intelligence research available to members. Consulting services and assistance in HR development, training sessions and funding/budgeting are also offered. • ATA is the owner and operator of the Authentic Albania Quality Mark, the only quality-driven standards for Albanian accommodations, and the Albanian Tourism Award, the only quality driven scheme for individuals and organizations. • ATA is a member of the Advisory Board of the Private Tourism Sector at the Ministry of Tourism. • ATA is a founding member of the Balkan Alliance of Hotel Associations. BAHA is member of IHRA and EMRF.

Koncepti Shtylle / Pillar Concept Organet e shoqatës janë subjekte ligjore në statutet e të cilave janë përcaktuar qartë detyrat, menaxhimi i procesit të operimit, dhe të drejtave të votës. Organet e shoqatës janë: 1. Përfaqësimi rajonal 2. Asambleja e sektorëve 3. Asambleja e Përgjithshme e anëtarësimit (të gjithë sektorët dhe rajonet) 4. Bordi i Drejtorëve 5. Bordi Ekzekutiv 6. Menaxhimi i Shoqatës Anëtarët e përgjithshem (me të drejta të plota) formojnë bazën e ekzistencës së shoqatës, si nje shoqate gjithëpërfshirëse ATA perfaqeson kategoritë e ndryshme të operatorëve turistikë. Anëtarësia e përgjithshme është e organizuar në tre seksione “Shtylla”:

The organs of the association are legal entities in the statutes of which are clearly defined tasks, management, operation process, and the voting rights. The bodies of the association are: 1. Management of the Association General members (with full rights) form the basis of the existence of ATA’s as comprehensive a representative association for different categories of tour operators. General membership is organized into three “pillar” sections:

1. Sektori strehim, 2. Operatorët turistikë sektoriale dhe 3. Sektori restorante (ushqimi dhe pijet).

Perfaqesimi ne Rajone i ATA-s ATA Regional representation Deget Rajonale te ATA u krijuan ne harkun kohor Qershor 2009 - Prill 2012. Keto dege, mbulojne sot rreth 55 % te anetaresise kundrejt 45% qe ze vetem Tirana. Kryetaret e Ancona degeve jane njekohesisht edhe anetare te Bordit te Drejtoreve, ndersa njeri prej tyre zgjidhet te perfaqesoje Rajonet ne Bordin Ekzekutiv. Struktura e degeve rajonale sipas sektoreve si dhe kryetaret dhe zevendeskryetaret e degeve respective paraqiten ne pjesen e II-te te ketij katalogu. ATA regional branches were created from June 2009 until April 2012. Today these branches cover 55% of the membership as opposed to 45% which makes up only Tirana. The chairpersons of regional branches are at the same time members of the Board of Directors, while one of them is elected to represent regions in the Executive Board. • 2009 Copyright Artikulimi i qendrimit te ATA-s per të drejtën e autorit, seanca negociuese me agjencitë e te drejtes se autorit dhe zyrat publike kompetente, përfshirja ne procesin e ndryshimit te ligjit duke dhene input nga ATA. 2012 Marreveshje bashkepunimi me AMP dhe tarifa te favorshme per hotelet anetare. • 2009 Çështjet e vizave Me një vendim të posaçëm të Këshillit të Ministrave, të gjithë qytetarët e Rusisë, Ukrainës dhe Serbisë hynë në Shqipëri pa viza nga maji deri në tetor 2009. • Taksat lokale 2009 Reduktimi i tatimit komunal për shërbimet e mbeturinave i aplikuar ne menyre te dubluar për hotelet në Tiranë. • Taksat Vendore 2011 Në periudhën para-zgjedhore prill 2011 ATA ka lobuar për një tatim të ulët të takses se qytetit dhe përdorjen e kësaj takse për qëllime të promovimit të turizmit. Kjo taksë u ul nga 5% deri në 2.5% në 5 bashki dhe komuna në të gjithë vendin domethënë, Tiranë Pogradec, Vlorë, Sarandë, Durres. • TVSH ATA është e vetmja organizate qe lobon për TVSH më të ulët në fushën e turizmit, Shqipëria është i vetmi vend në rajon me nivelin më të lartë të kësaj takse te turizem dhe vecanerisht hotele.

2. Vemendje

ATA ka arritur që të rrisë vetëdijen në kuadër të sektorit dhe për publikun e gjerë nëpërmjet një pranie dinamike në median e shkruar dhe elektronike. ATA organizon dhe mban eventin kombëtar për turizmin sic eshte Konferenca vjetore e Turizmit. Prej vitit 2009 ATA është anëtar aktiv i Këshillit Konsultativ Sektorit Privat të Turizmit I cili thirret nga Ministri i Turizmit. Pjesemarrja ne kete keshill u shoqërua me reforma në ligjin ekzistues të turizmit, në mënyrë për të përmirësuar atë dhe për të menaxhuar e për të trajtuar çështje të rëndësishme për industrinë te tilla si kategorizimin e bizneseve, klasifikimin dhe klimën e përmirësuar të biznesit.

3. Cilesi & Standarte

ATA ka ngritur skemen e Cmimit te Turizmit Shqiptar ne bashkepunim me Ministrine e Tourizmit dhe me mbeshtetjen e GIZ. ATA zoteron programin e markes e cilesise “Authentic Albania” i ngritur me mbeshtetjen e USAID. Deri tani ky program ka vleresuar me kete cmim 63 hotele ne vend. Faqja zyrtare e www.authenticalbania.com eshte aktive prej muajit Korrik 2012.

4. Training Services

Gjate 2010-2012 ATA ka trainuar me shume se 50 individe dhe kompani me mbeshtetjen e Projektit Rritje Albania te USAID dhe Programit BAS te BERZH.

5. Marketing

Agjensi anetare te ATA-s marrin pjese ne panaire nderkombetare te turizmit qe mbeshteten nga MTKRS dhe AKT. Keto Agjensi u promovuan kete vit ne Kine perms Marreveshjes se Bashkepunimit mes MTKRS dhe Administrates Kombetare te Turizmit te Republikes se Kines. Rajoni i Vlores perfiton sherbime te shtuara fale projektit TPNM – Tourism Promotion to New Markets nje iniciative e ATA’s dhe Bashkise Korfuz.

• 2009 Copyright ATA has articulated positioning on copyright issues and has made several negotiating sessions with copyright agencies and public office in charge, involvement in the law revising process providing ATA’s input. • 2009 Visa issues Due to ATA lobbying since 2009 a special Decision of the Council of Ministers is issued annually allowing Visa-Free regime for Russian, Ukrainian and Serbian citisens that enter in Albania from May to October. • 2009 Local taxes Reduction of triple municipal tax for waste services applied to the hotels in Tirana. • 2011 Local Taxes In the pre-electoral period April 2011 ATA lobbied for a lower city tax and dedication of this tax for tourism promotion purposes. This tax was reduced from 5% up to 2.5% in 5 municipalities and communes all over the country namely Tirana, Pogradec, Vlora, Saranda and Durres. • VAT ATA is actually the only association that lobbies for a lower VAT rate in tourism. Albania is the only country in the region with the highest level of this tax in tourism and hotels in particular.

2. Attention

ATA has managed to increase awareness within the sector and to the wider public through a dynamic presence in the written and electronic media. ATA organizes and holds the biggest national event on tourism, The Annual Tourism Conference. Since 2009 ATA is an active Member of the Tourism Private Sector Advisory Board called by the Minister of Tourism. This presence was accompanied with reforms in the existing tourism law in order to improve it and manage to tackle crucial issues for the industry such as categorization of businesses, classification and improved business climate.

3. Quality & Standards

ATA has established the Albanian Tourism Award in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism. ATA is the owner of the “Authentic Albania” Quality Mark Program and has awarded 40 hotels and accommodation units countrywide. www. authenticalbania.com is under construction while 60 more units will get this award until the end of 2012.

4. Training Services

ATA has trained more than 50 individuals & companies with the support of USAID’s Project Rritje Albania, the EBRD BAS Program.

5. Marketing

Tourism Agents members of the ATA take part in international tourism fairs supported by NTA and Ministry of Tourism. These tourism agents were promoted in China after the MoU signed between the Ministry of Touism and the National Administration of Tourism of the Republic of China ATA members of Vlora Region are benefitting special services thanks to TPNM –Tourism Promotion to New Markets project, a common initiative of ATA and Cofu Municipality.

Çmimi i Turizmit Shqiptar Sektori i turizmit në Shqipëri po i nënshtrohet që prej disa vitesh një procesi dinamik të zhvillimit. Megjithatë duhet pranuar se jo të gjitha arritjet kontribuojnë në një zhvillim të qëndrueshëm të turizmit duke marrë në konsideartë aspektin ekonomik, social, si edhe atë mjedisor. Në shumë raste potencialet natyrore dhe autentike të turizmit janë në rrezik. Një nga arsyet është mangësia në njohjen e tendencave që kanë konsumatorët dhe pritshmërive të tyre në lidhje me mënyrat e udhëtuarit. Një tjetër arsye është mungesa e përvojës ndërkombëtare në zhvillimin e destinacioneve me orientim nga konsumatori ne menyre eficente dhe në marrjen në konsideratë të teknologjive të fundit për të ruajtur burimet natyrore dhe potencialet turistike të kufizuara. ATA në bashkëpunim me Ministrinë e Turizmit, Kulturës, Rinisë dhe Sporteve (MTKRS) ka krijuar për këtë arsye skemen e çmimit të turizmit si një masë për të përmirësuar situatën e ndërgjegjësimit dhe njohjeve në sektorin e turizmit në lidhje me kushtet paraprake për një zhvillim të qëndrueshëm. Për më tepër, shembuj për zhvillimin dhe zbatimin e ideve kreative të cilat plotësojnë kriteret e dhëna identifikohen dhe vlerësohen si shembuj të mirë praktikë. Cmimet e turizmit 2012 do te ndahen gjate Konferences se V-te vjetore te ATA-s. Kemi besim se Cmimi I Turizmit Shqiptar do te rris ndergjegjesimin per zhvilimin e qendrueshem te sektorit te turizmit dhe do te kontribuoje ne drejtim te nje imazhit pozitiv te ketij Sektori brenda dhe jashte vendit.

Historia e Çmimit Shqiptar te Turizmit Çmimet e para të turizmit janë dhënë për arritjet në turizëm gjatë vitit 2009. Ceremonia e ndarjes së këtyre çmimeve u zhvillua gjatë Konferencës së II-të vjetore të ATA-s, në shkurt 2010.

Fituesit e Cmimit te Turizmit 2009 Fituesit e parë të Çmimit të Turizmit ishin: • Aeroporti Ndërkombëtar i Tiranës për zgjidhjen e tij kreative aeroportuale, krijimin e kushteve për një rritje dinamike të trafikut ajror dhe përfshirjen e gjerë sociale, dhe së fundmi për kontributin e tij në imazhin pozitiv të Shqipërisë si një portë ndërkombëtare për të arritur Shqipërinë. • Lugina e Thethit për zhvillimin e një ofertë autentike të turizmit shqiptar, që nëpërmjet rehabilitimit të shtëpive tradicionale të gurit për miqtë, ka mundësuar të ardhura për familjet e kësaj zone, duke zbatuar një ofertë turistike unike e cila është një kontribut në diversitetin e ofertës turistike shqiptare dhe në ndërtimin e një imazhi të tillë.

Camping Albania ne Kategorine e Marketingut me Projektin e promovimit të Camping Albania, platformë qe pasurohet vazhdimisht me elemëntë të rinj në promovimin jo vetëm të zonës ku kryen aktivitetin turistik, por turizmit shqiptar në përgjithësi. Komuna Gjinar ne Kategorine Inovacion si shembull i rrallë i përpjekjeve për të zhvilluar turizmin në rrethana jo të favorshme duke shfrytëzuar plotësisht resurset natyrore, vlerat kulturore dhe folkloristike të zonës. Stafi i komunës ka krijuar mundësi për të zhvilluar turizmin si dhe për ta promovuar atë në një mënyrë shumë origjinale duke bashkëpunuar ngushtë me organizatata nderkombetare. • Muzeu Historik “Gjergj Kastrioti”, Kruja – was presented with “Contribution to Tourism” Albanian Tourism Award. Muzeu Kombetar „Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu“eshte inaguruar me 1 Nentor 1982, ndertuar ne keshtjellen e Krujes, ne te majte te hyrjes se saj. Muzeu eshte ndertuar ne Kruje per faktin se Kruja ishte qender e epopese shqiptare te shekullit XV kunder osmaneve dhe emri i tij behet i njohur ne te gjithe Evropen.

Albanian Tourism Award The tourism sector in Albania undergoes since some years a dynamic development process. However it has to be admitted that not all achievements contribute to a sustainable tourism development taking economic, social, as well as environmental aspects into account. In many cases the natural and authentic tourism potentials are at risk. One reason is a lack of awareness of what are consumer trends and expectations regarding their travel habits. Another is a lack of international experience on developing consumer oriented destinations, efficiently and taking latest technologies into account in order to preserve restricted natural resources and tourism potentials. ATA in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism Culture Youth and Sports have therefore established tourism award scheme as a measure to improve the awareness and knowledge on the tourism sector about the prerequisites for a sustainable development. Furthermore examples for the development and implementation of creative ideas which meet given criteria are identified and honored as best practice examples. The tourism awards for 2012 will be awarded during the V-th ATA Annual Conference. We are sure that the tourism award will improve awareness of a sustainable development on the tourism sector and contribute to a positive image of the tourism sector in Albania and abroad. `

The History of the Albanian Tourism Awards The first tourism prices were awarded for achievements in 2009, the awarding ceremony took place during the 2. ATA Annual Conference, in February 2010.

Tourism Award Winners 2009 The first Tourism Price Winners were • Tirana International Airport for its innovative airport solution, the creation of the prerequisites for a dynamic growth of air traffic, for its social involvement in Rinas, and finally for the contribution to a positive Albania image which it supplies as professional international gateway to Albania. • Theth Valley for the development of an authentic Albanian tourism offer by rehabilitating traditional stone houses to be used for guests and for the creation of income which enables families to live in the valley and finally for the implementation of a unique tourism offer which is a contribution to the diversity of the Albanian tourism offer and as such image building.

Tourism Award Winners 2010 2010 Award categories and winners were: • Destination Albania (DA) “Meet Balkan” project (13 regional tours - 7 days covering the Albanian Alps, Montenegro and Macedonia). As incoming tour operator DA offers services to foreign tour operators by combining the Albanian tourism hard- and software to attractive packages which meet customer expectations. The Albanian Tourism Product Award • Korça Municipality. The Municipality and the private business sector in Korça developed 4 years ago a concept of a Festival which attracted in 2010 over 20.000 visitors in 5 days. The Albanian Tourism Promotion Award • Çelësi sh.p.k. The Çelësi 10 city guides supply a major contribution to reduce the tourism information gap existing about Albanian and its Destinations. Osum Canions and all Rafting Albania specific product offered by a highly prepared staf with all the necessary technical elements. • Camping Albania was awarded in the Marketing Category Camping Albania in the category of Marketing Promotion with the Project Camping Albania, a platform that continually enriched with new elements in promoting not only the area where we operate tourism, but tourism in general. So the idea of setting up a campsite in Albania launched since 2004 and today has become a complete tourist product. • Gjinar Commune was awarded in the Innovation category. Gjinar Commune was awarded in the Innovation category as a rare example of efforts to develop the tourism in unfavorable circumstances making full use of natural resources, cultural values and folk of the area. Municipal staff has created opportunities to develop tourism and to promote it in a very original way, by working closely with international organisations. • “Gjergj Kastrioti” National Museum, Kruja – was presented with “Contribution to Tourism” Albanian Tourism Award. The National Museum “Scanderbeg” was inaugurated on 1 November 1982, built in the castle of Kruja, to the left of its entry. The museum was built in Kruje for the fact that Kruja was a center of Albanian Epopee of the XV century against the Ottomans and its name made thist own known in Europe. Interest has been growing from through the years. According the representatives of the museum, last year the number of visitors to the museum grew by more than 20 thousand compared to 2003.

Të dhënat e këtij Indeksi u bazuan në pyetësorët e plotësuar nga anëtarë te Shoqatës gjatë periudhës ShtatorDhjetor 2012 të cilët përfaqësojnë të gjitha destinacionet kryesore të vendit përkatësisht Shkodër, Vlorë, Gjirokastër, Korcë, Durrës dhe Tiranë. ATA conducts annually a survey with the purpose of producing the Index Study of Albanian Tourism Climate. This index accomplished for the 3rd consecutive year in 2012 with the support of GIZ, showed the perception of ATA’s members for tourism developments in various sectors and destinations of Albania for 2012. Details of this index study are based on questionnaires completed by members of the Association during SeptemberDecember 2012 who represent all major destinations of the country, respectively Shkodra, Vlora, Gjirokastra, Korça, Durrësi and Tirana. Konferenca Vjetore eshte ngjarja me e rendesishme e industrise se turizmit. Turizmi i Pergjegjshem: Rruga e Rritjes Ekonomike ne te Ardhmen është tema që ATA përzgjodhi për të bërë bashkë bizneset e turizmit, organizata, institucionet publike, si dhe të gjithë aktorët aktivë në zhvillimin e turizmit shqiptar ne Konferencën e 5-te Kombetare te Turizmit mbajtur me 18 Dhjetor 2012. Temat dhe diskutimet e kësaj Konference u perqendruan në hapat që të gjithë së bashku duhet të ndërmarrim për ta bërë turizmin shqiptar industrinë që përmes rritjes së standarteve garanton rritjen ekonomike. Rezultatet e Indeksit dhe sherbimet e reja per anetaresine prezantohen gjate kesaj konference. Në këtë event ATA nderon me Çmime të dedikuara organizata dhe individë që gjatë dy viteve e fundit 2011-2012 treguan vlera dhe standarte në produktet dhe shërbimet e tyre.

The annual conference is the most important event of the Industry. The National Tourism Conference is organized by ATA in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and supported by all partners working in Tourism. Responsible Tourism: Path to Future Economic Growth is the topic that ATA selected to bring together businesses, organisations, public institutions and all active actors engaged in Albanian tourism development in the 5-th National Tourism Conference held in 18 December 2012. The topics and discussions in this Conference focus on the steps that we all should take to make Albanian tourism the industry that, through improvement of standards, will guarantee the economic growth. The outcome of the index study and new services for the membership are presented in this conference,During the event ATA honors with Dedicated Awards organisations and individuals that during the last two years 2011-2012 introduced values and standards through their products and services.

Çmimi i Markes se Cilesise Authentic Albania About AAQM

Authentic Albania Quality Mark is Albania’s official mark of quality, excellence and sustainable tourism. The AAQM Program is owned by ATA, with full support from USAID/Rritje Albania Project. The Authentic Albania Quality Mark Program was designed to function as an industry-led initiative with strong partnerships and validation from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports (MTCYS) and National Tourism Agency (NTA). The program serves as a core product for ATA, as it is geared towards its primary beneficiary: hotels. The program also supports tour operators, who rely on recommending quality hotel services to their customers. The program will also increase awareness of Albania as a developing and desirable tourism destination and provide an alternatively positive image about the country.

Authentic Albania Quality Mark eshte marka zyrtare e Shqiperise per cilesine, persosmerine dhe qendrueshmerine ne turizem. Programi i Markes se Cilesise Authentic Albani është pronësi e Shoqates Shqiptare te Turizmit, e mbeshtetur prej Projektit Rritje Albania te USAID. HOW TO JOIN

In order to apply for the Authentic Albania Quality Mark Award, one must first become a member of the Albanian Tourism Association. Please click here to learn more about ATA and its membership benefits. The assessment and award process passes through the following steps: 1) Your application is reviewed by ATA and checked for completeness 2) You will be contacted by a third party firm (IDRA) that has been contracted to carry out the assessment of your facility and you will agree on a date for the half-day assessment and consultation. 3) The assessor’s visit will be split between evaluating your business and discussing the difficulties and challenges that it faces. a) Topics include such elements as: marketing and promotion; human resources; financing, revenue and cost management; the integration of local culture, traditions and cuisine. The purpose is to highlight strengths and weaknesses, share best current practices, and suggest ways to improve. 4) Within one month, you will receive a detailed written Assessment Report giving your score in each area assessed. You will also receive a letter from the Chair of the Authentic Albania Quality Mark Award Committee indicating whether your facility qualified to receive an AAQM Award and if so, the award level achieved. An awards ceremony is held every quarter for the hotels/guest houses that have qualified to become members of the Authentic Albania Quality Mark Program. It will be attended by national dignitaries, local media and other key stakeholders.

Qëllimi është që të nxjerrë në pah pikat e forta dhe të dobëta,te ndajne praktikat aktuale me te mira, dhe te sugjerojnë mënyrat për ti përmirësuar. 4) Brenda një muaji, ju do të merrni një raport të hollësishëm me shkrim të vlerësimit të dhënë dhe rezultatin tuaj në çdo fushë të vlerësuar. Ju do të merrni edhe një letër nga Kryetari i Komitetit te cmimit Authentic Albania Quality Mark qe tregon nëse objekti juaj eshte i kualifikuar për të marrë një çmim AAQM dhe nëse po, nivelin e çmimit te arritur. Struktura e Anëtarëve të ATA-s / ATA-s Member Structure Struktura e Anëtarësise të ATA-s Anëtarësia e ATA-s është strukturuar sipas sektorëve dhe rajoneve. Sot ATA numeron mbi 290 anetare ne mbare vendin, Përafërsisht gjysma e anëtarëve i përket sektorit të hoteleve me 49% ose 141 hotele dhe shtepi pritese. Sektori i Agjenteve turistike dhe te udhetimit përbën grupin e dytë me 23 %, të ndjekur nga sektori i restoranteve dhe sektori i anëtarëvë të asociuar që zënë secili 12 % të anëtarësisë së ATA-s, dhe ne vazhdim nga grupimi i kampingjeve me 4%. Ne vitin 2012 u konfiguruan Anetaret Mbeshtetese e ATA-s. Tirana International Airport eshte Anetar i 1-re Mbeshtetes i ATA-s. Klasifikimi i rajoneve sipas kësaj ndarje të anëtarësisë tregon se 46%të anëtarëve të ATA-s janë ne rajonin e Tiranes, 12% ne Vlore, 11% ne Shkoder, 10% në Durrës dhe Golem, 8 % ne Korce dhe Pogradec dhe 10% ne Sarandë, Gjirokastër dhe Berat..

ATA-s Membership Structure ATA membership is structured according to sectors and regions. Today ATA counts more than 290 members countrywide. Nearly half of members belong to the hotel sector 49% or 141 hotels and guest houses. The tourism agent sector including some transportation companies comes second with 23 % followed by the restaurant and associated member pillar each standing for 12 % of the membership and finally the camping cluster with 12 %. The ranking of the regions according to their share reveals that 46% of the ATA members are based in Tirana region, 12% in Vlora, 11% in Shkodra-Lezha,10% in Durres, 9% in Korca-Pogradec and finally 10% in Saranda-Gjirokastra-Berat.

Founded in 1614, today Tirana is simultaneously the center of many important institutions such as the Palace of Congresses, the International Cultural Center, the Palace of Culture with the Opera House and the Ballet Theater, as well as the governmental buildings of the Council of Ministres, the Presidency and the Parlament.We estimate that Tirana has about 1500 tourism businesses including hotels, agencies, restaurants and transport & travel agents. ATA - Rajoni i Durrësit ATA - Durres Region Durres is one of the oldest cities of Albania with 3000 years of history. Founded in the year 627 BC by colons from Korinth and Korkyra (today’s Corfu), its ancient name was “Epidamnos” and later “Dyrrachium”. Currently, Durres is the country´s principal port and is daily connected by ferry lines to the Italian ports of Bari, Trieste and Ancona. Durres is known for its nearby sea resort, which is the largest and most popular in Albania. Vlerësojmë se Saranda ka rreth 400 biznese ku përfshihen hotele, agjensi, restorante dhe agjentë transportesh e udhëtimesh. Dega e Sarandës u krijua në Qershor 2010 dhe sot numeron 15 anëtarë, nga këto 10 Hotele, 3 Agjentë, 1 Restorant dhe 1 Anëtar të Asociuar. The city of Saranda is located along the Ionian coast, near the Greek island of Corfu. The city was mentioned in the I-st century B.C. with the name Onhezmus. The area around Saranda is also blessed with a number of archaeological sites. The most important of these is most certainly Butrint. The ecosystem surrounding the area is a national park, offering you the opportunity to walk in a real Mediterranean “jungle”. Mission, Vision, Objectives The Albanian ICT Association aims at: - being the leading voice of the ICT sector; - being the supporting voice of its members’ interests; - enabling the cooperation and collaboration among the main ICT stakeholders: private, public and academy - identifying, recognizing and addressing barriers to growth in the ICT sector; - promoting the Albanian ICT products/services in and outside Albania; - introducing and encouraging expansion of internationally accepted ICT standards in the country; - supporting innovation and start-up in Albania; - cooperating for the educational curricula in the ICT ﬁeld.

Activities AITA’s activities are focused in the following areas: - coordinated representation of its members and collaboration with the Albanian Government in the forms of joint meetings, preparation of Position Papers, participation in meetings with representatives of particular sectors of importance to the ICT sector, etc.; - building bridges of sectoral and intersectoral cooperation in and outside Albania; - organization of events that bring novelty and reinforce methodology and standards in the sector, such as business trips, fairs, trainings, etc.; - initiation of studies aiming at generating relevant data for the ICT sector; - generation of project-ideas and implementation of projects of national importance in the ICT ﬁeld.

Ongoing Activities Services to members: - Organization of round tables with Government Institutions to inﬂuence law making and policy making (lobbying activities); - Organization of B2B meetings with other sectors of economy to create direct communication and raise awareness about and demand for ICT services; - Organization of round tables with institutions providing ﬁnancial support in the form of grants or loans; - Marketing services (networking events for members (such as ICT Day organized in cooperation with STIKK, event celebrating 5 years of existence of AITA – took place i website presentation, publication of members catalogue, in progress: representation in CeBIT 2013) - Trainings to be organized until March 2013: Trainings related to ISO standards, Sales & Marketing, Project Management; - Publication of a study on ICT companies in Albania (to be published online in October 2012), in progress: study on skills gap analysis; - Public Relations (Newsletter, Informing the community on social network platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).

- Preparation of ofﬁcial letters directed to Government Institutions to inﬂuence change of legislation / addressing of problems;

Academic Exchange for Progress (a project supported from the Norwegian Government which brings together two partners from Norway, two partners from Albania, three partners from Kosovo, two partners from FYROM). Beneﬁts for the ICT community in Albania: a. For companies: students after an exchange semester and internship in Norway will work for six months for member companies of AITA, opportunity of getting current knowledge from a very developed ICT market and environment like Norway with little cost, opportunity of matchmaking with Norwegian companies; b. For the universities: curricula will be improved, research will be supported and produced, international and regional cooperation will be fostered, excellent students will get the chance to study for one semester in Norway and current ICT knowledge will be channeled through them also to Albania Support the internationalization efforts of Albanian ICT companies (through supporting the implementation of the CBI Netherlands program (2013 – 2017) in support of ICT exports to EU countries). AITA’s involvement in the period March – August 2012 enabled the acceptance of Albania into this 5-years program. Actually AITA is supporting CBI in the start up phase of the project (reaching companies, involving other donor institutions working at local level to support and enhance the reach and results of the program).

ATA - Rajoni i Shkodres ATA - Shkodra Region Shkodra është e vendosur në Shqipërinë veriperëndimore, pranë liqenit me të njëjtin emër, më i madhi në Gadishullin Ballkanik. Shkodra është një qytet i lashtë i themeluar në shekullin e IV-rt si qendra kryesore e fisit Ilir Labeat dhe fillimisht quhej Scodra. Shkodra është një nga qendrat kryesore të kultures dhe historise shqiptare. Pika kryesore qe vizitohet nga turistët eshte Kalaja e Rozafes, e cila daton që në periudhën ilire. Kështjella e ndërtuar mbi një kodër shkëmbore ndodhet në anën perëndimore të qytetit, e rrethuar nga tre lumenj: Drini, Buna, dhe Kiri. Ne vlerësojmë që Shkodra ka rreth 400 biznese ku përfshihen hotele, agjensi, restorante, agjente transportesh dhe udhëtimesh. Dega e Shkodrës është dega e parë rajonale që ATA krijoi në Qershor të vitit 2009 me 22 anëtare. Sot, kjo dege ka 33 anëtarë, nga të cilet: 11 Hotele, 6 Restorante, 10 Agjentë, 2 kampingje dhe 4 Anëtarë të Asociuar. Shkodra is located in northwest Albania, near the lake with the same name, which is the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula. Shkodra is an ancient city founded in the IV-th century B.C. as the main center of the Ilyrian Labeat tribe and was originally named Scodra. Shkodra is one of the main centers of Albanian culture and history. The main attraction visited by tourists is the Rozafa Castle, which dates back to the Illyrian period. The castle was build on a rocky hill located in the west side of the city, surrounded by three rivers: Drini, Buna, and Kir. We estimate that Shkodra has around 400 tourism businesses including hotels, agencies, restaurants, transport and travel agents. ATA Regional Branch of Shkoder was the first regional branch of ATA established in June 2009 then counting 22 members. Today the branch has 33 members of which: 11 Hotels, 6 Restaurants, 10 Agents, 2 camping and 4 associated members. ATA - Rajoni i Gjirokastres ATA - Gjirokastra Region Qyteti tradicional i Gjirokastrës është pjesë e Listes se Trashëgimisë Botërore të UNESCO-s dhe është nga sitet më tërheqëse turistike të vendit. Ai është qyteti kryesor jugor në vend. Fillimisht, ishte vendbanim ilir i lidhur me fisin Argjiro. I shtrirë në anën lindore të Malit të Gjerë, qyteti nisi si një kështjellë e shekullit të IV-rt, e cila është sot kështjella më madhe në të gjithë vendin. Gjirokastra është e njohur si “Qyteti i gurit” dhe disa nga objektet tërheqëse për turistët janë shtëpitë e vjetra, të ndërtuara me gurë e që ngjajnë si kështjella të vogla, dhe rrugët e shtruara me kalldrëm. Vlerësojmë se Gjirokastra ka rreth 100 biznese turizmi në të cilat përfshihen hotele, shtëpi pritëse, restorante dhe agjentë. Dega Rajonale e Gjirokastrës u krijua në Qershor 2010 dhe sot numëron 6 anëtarë 5 nga të cilët hotele dhe 1 shtëpi pritëse. The traditional city of Gjirokastra is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and is the most attractive tourist sites of the country. It is the main southern city in the country. Initially, it was an Illyrian settlement linked to the Argjiro tribe. Perched on the eastern side of the Wide Mountain (Mali i Gjere), the city began as a IV-th century castle, which is today the greatest castle in the whole country. Gjirokastra is known as “The City of Stone” and some of the tourists attraction are old houses, build by stone to resemble small castles, and streets paved with cobblestone. We estimate that Gjirokastra has around 100 tourism businesses including hotels, guest houses, restaurants and agents. The regional branch of Gjirokastra was founded in June 2010 and it has 6 members consisting only on 5 hotels and 1 guest house.

ATA - Rajoni i Beratit ATA - Berat Region Berati shtrihet në bregun e djathtë të lumit Osum, një distancë e shkurtër nga pika ku është bashkuar me lumin Molisht. Ai eshte i pasur me ndërtesa të bukura arkitektonike dhe historike. Pyjet me pisha mbi pjesen e siperme te qytetit, në shpatet e maleve Tomorr, sigurojne një sfond të përshtatshem shume madhështor. Lumi Osum ka prerë një gryke të thellë 915 metra nëpër shkëmbin gëlqeror në anën perëndimore të luginës duke formuar një kala natyrore, rreth të cilave qyteti është ndërtuar mbi disa tarraca lumore. Sipas një legjende shqiptare, mali Tomorr ishte fillimisht një gjigant, i cili luftoi me një tjetër gjigant, i quajtur Shpiragut per një vajze te re. Ata vranë njëri-tjetrin dhe vajza u mbyt në lotet e saj, te cilet sipas legjendes formuan edhe lumin Osum. Vleresojme se Berati ka rreth 100 biznese turizmi te cilat perfshijne hotele, shtepi pritese, agjente turistike dhe udhetimi si dhe restorante. Dega e ATA Berat numeron vetem 8 biznese anetare. Dega eshte e vogel, por premtuese. Berat lies on the right bank of the river Osum, a short distance from the point where it is joined by the Molisht river. It has a wealth of beautiful buildings of high architectural and historical interest. The pine forests above the city, on the slopes of the towering Tomorr mountains, provide a backdrop of appropriate grandeur. The Osumi river has cut a 915-metre deep gorge through the limestone rock on the west side of the valley to form a precipitous natural fortress, around which the town was built on several river terraces. According to an Albanian legend, the Tomorr mountain was originally a giant, who fought with another giant, called Shpirag for a young woman. They killed each other and the girl drowned in her tears, which according to legend then became the Osum river. We estimate that there are around 100 tourism businesses in Berat including hotels, guest houses, tourism and travel agents and restaurants. There are only 8 ATA member businesses in Berat. The branch is very small but promising.

The city of Pogradec was built on the southwestern shores of Lake Ohrid and is one of the most notable cities of Albania for its tradition in hosting “family tourism” and for the pleasant, fresh climate during the summer season. The tectonic lake is four milion years old and is the deepest of its kind in the Balkan Peninsula reaching a maximum depth of approximately 300 meters. We estimate that there are about 200 tourism businesses in Pogradec including hotels, restaurants, tourism and travel agents. ATA - Rajoni Korçë ATA - Korce Region The city of Korca is one of the largest and most important cultural and economical centers of Albania, located in the southeastern part of the country. The city is known for its typical quarters, composed of low houses and villas, which are paved with cobblestone. The city of Korca has a range of museums such as “The Education Museum” “The National Museum of Medieval Art”, “The Prehistoric Museum”, etc. Beyond the museums and the monuments, Korca is the city where the largest Carnival in Albania is organized. We estimate that there are 150 tourism businesses Korca including hotels, guest houses, tourism agents, transport & travel agents and restaurants. Regional Branch of Korca which includes Pogradec was established in June 2010. Today this branch counts 22 members of which 16 hotels, 2 restaurants, 2 agents, 1 Camping Site and 1 Associated Member. From the geometric and ecological point of view, Lezha consists in a wonderful kelidoskop of nature, almost an ecologic dynasty where the mountain the land, the forest, the monuments, the lagoon, and the sea compose an harmonious unity. In this sense Lezha, is the favorite of the centuries synthesis of the nature`of people with a bright vesk of history and art. Lezha extends from the foothills of Shkodra in the north to the coast of Mates in jug, nga Puke-Mirdite highlands in the northeast of the east, to the Adriatic Sea in the west. We estimate that tLezha has around 200 tourism businesses including hotels, restaurants and agents. The regional branch of Lezha and Shengjin was esstablished as a separate structure in March 2012. Today it counts 13 Member businesses of which 7 hotels, 2 restaurants, 2 agents, 1 camping site and 1 associated member. Ne kete kuptim Lezha, eshte e preferuara e shekujve, nje sinteze e vepres se natyres dhe te njerezve me nje trashegimi te historise dhe te artit. Lezha shtrihet nga Ultesira e Shkodres ne veri e deri ne Breg te Mates ne jug, nga Malesia Puke-Mirdite ne verilindje e lindje, e deri ne detin Adriatik ne perendim.
