BEARS I am going to talk about bears because for me they are one of the most beautiful and wonderful animals in the world. Some people say they are dangerous but I believe they attack when they feel threatened by humans and I am pretty sure that they are peaceful animals that protect each other. There are eight different types of bears the North American Black Bear, Brown Bear, Polar Bear, Asiatic Black Bear, Andean Bear, Panda Bear, Sloth bear and the Sun Bear. Moreover, they have an excellent sense of smell and despite its great weight, are very good runners, climbers, and swimmers. They rest in caves and burrows; most species occupy their caves during the winter for a long period of up to 100 days of sleep that resembles hibernation. Also, not all of them are carnivores, the giant panda feeds almost entirely on bamboo, the polar bear is mostly carnivorous and the remaining six species are omnivorous with varied diets. Unfortunately, six of the eight species of bears are endangered or vulnerable and their numbers are in decline. Bears are confronted with a wide variety of threats, including habitat loss, climate change, and hunting. Furthermore, the most affected are the polar bears that according to the researchers there are 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears and 300 to 500 are killed each year. However, if we want to preserve these wonderful animals, we must begin to care for the environment and try to be more aware of the damage we can do to limit not only the habitat of bears but many more animals, with our ideas of continue expanding our territory.

OSCAR WILDE

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was born on October 16, 1854 in Dublin, Ireland. He was an Irish writer and poet that marked history with his works. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, his only novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, his plays, and the circumstances of his early death. He was son of very successful parents. His father, William Wilde, was an acclaimed doctor and his mother, Jane Francesca Elgee, was a poet. His work was recognized for the genres Drama, short story, dialogue and journalism and the most notable works he made were The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Gray. The first notable work mentioned before was a comedy in which the protagonists maintain fiction in order to escape of social obligations. The debut of this work was in London but the Marquess of Queensberry ruined his presentation to blame him for defamation and he was convicted and imprisoned for two years in which he wrote De Profundis, that was a long letter which discusses his spiritual journey through his trials. Then, we had The Picture of Dorian Gray that was the only published novel he made, and after revising the story for book publication, making substantial alterations, deleting controversial passages and adding new chapters because the people wanted it to censored, it was published and recognized by everyone in the world of poetry and literature. Finally, he died destitute in Paris at the age of forty-six. I maybe choose him because I always see a lot of interesting quotes of him and I become curious of whom he was. However, he was a great writer who marked the world with his works that challenged the reality of those times and one of the most important characters in history.
