Council says “yea”
Sunshine Coast Council (SSC) councillors met on 26 October to discuss and vote on the proposed supermarket development at 10 Memorial Dr, Eumundi.
The motion was “that council authorise the Chief Executive Officer to notify the Planning and Environment Court and parties to the appeal that council contends for the approval of the development application, the subject of the appeal, subject to reasonable and relevant conditions." The outcome of the vote was in favour of the resolution with four in favour and two against. Two members abstained from voting due to conflicts of interest.
“I was elected to represent my community and over the past four years the community has made their views crystal clear regarding this matter. They are looking to have this approved today. I am urging everyone in the room to show their support so we can move forward and represent our community, not only in Division 10 but the whole of the Sunshine Coast,” said Cr David Law.
The process is now with the courts which will control the application’s progress.
