Project Type: Measured Drawing

Year: 2019

A two-tiered Lord Krishna temple without any existing drawings or written historical documentation is located in the town of Banepa. Our team studied and took measurements of this piece of architectural history. Drawings of the temple and its complex were done in an effort to learn about measured drawing and maybe preserve a record of the structure.

According to history, the Thanapati Narayan Temple was initially constructed between the 4th and 7th centuries during the Lichhavi period. It resembles Changu Narayan temple, built around the same time. The sculptures of Krishna and Radha inside the shrine indicate that the temple is devoted to Lord Krishna.
