Nowhere is Oslo's redevelopment more obvious than from the top of Norway's National Opera House in Bjorvika – and on Thursday, the 12th of June, there will be a guided tour to this vantage point and around the neighbourhood. Bjorvika is a key area within the Fjord City Project which seeks to transform the Oslo waterfront from industrial to urban use and enhance connections between the City and the Fjord.
The project includes: • 225 hectares • 10 kilometres waterfront • 13 project areas Plus Bjorvika: • a 700 metre subsea tunnel • National Opera (and Ballet) House • Several other major cultural institutions • 5,000 new apartments • 20,000 new workplaces (the Barcode project)
