Providing Person-centred Care

With over 740 local Well pharmacies, Well Care Home Services use local teams – providing bespoke packages and helping give carers more time to focus on their residents. The team work with the homes to develop a package that works for that individual home. All of which include a local dispensing service, local delivery drivers and a dedicated customer account manager to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Well handle everything prescriptionrelated, including chasing any missing prescriptions from prescribers, and thanks to their partnership with eLearning provider CareShield, Well offers over 70 online training modules ensuring all care workers are well trained. The service offers original pack dispensing and racked medication dispensing, alongside delivery of monthly medication and interim medication, all designed to give care staff one less thing to worry about. Free same day interim deliveries are also available, dependent on the size and location of the home.

Well can also supply over 8,000 medical appliances from stoma bags to wound products, through its dispensing appliance contractor Wardles.

Charlotte Ridgwell, Care Home Business Lead for Well Pharmacy, said: “For us, the key to success is having meaningful and trusted relationships with our care homes. We spend a lot of time understanding what is most important to each care home, and then on delivering that day in day out. Strong relationships are built through great, proactive communication as well as a passion for what we do and attention to detail”.

“Our expert teams can help and support with audit processes and resourcing of equipment from trollies to fridges. We’re focused on taking the hassle out of queries, and help problem solve together quickly and confidentially. Our pharmacy teams love caring for others – which enhances the friendly and professional service they provide.”

Homes are given a choice of paper MAR or one of four leading eMAR providers (Mede-Care, Omnicell, VCare and Access iCare) to simplify medication management in care and nursing homes, streamlining medication administration and auditing into one local electronic system.

Well also work alongside PainChek®, the world’s first pain assessment tool that uses facial recognition to detect pain. It enables professionals to identify the presence of pain in residents who are not able to communicate for themselves if they are living with dementia – for example.

Sarah Jones, Registered Manager at Glanmarlais in Ammanford, South Wales, added: “I would like to congratulate Well Pharmacy on our smooth transition, they have been supportive, patient and extremely helpful. They are available on the telephone and will assist with anything. I would not hesitate to work with Well, their delivery service is prompt and efficient and they have gone above and beyond.”
