“STEM Professionals Go Back to School”

The Scheme for schools The “STEM Professionals Go Back To School” scheme is a STEM Alliance programme to engage company professionals (technicians, scientists, engineers, researchers or employment and recruiting managers) to visit schools and participate in collaborative activities for one hour to half a day or more.

Why?

When?

 To close the gap between industry and education sectors  To raise pupils' and teachers’ awareness around STEM careers and to promote STEM jobs

The programme is always running and functions as a database where to map new and existing collaborative relationships between schools and companies

How? The school organises an exchange session and prepares the visit of a STEM professional with pedagogical activities of your choice embedded in the STEM class.

The STEM Alliance is coordinated by both European Schoolnet and CSR Europe. The STEM Alliance is supported by a core group of Premium Partners and of General Partners. The activities are accessible to as many partners as possible.


AN ECOSYSTEM TO SUPPORT YOU 1) The Booklet Feeling lost? The scheme will propose a “STEM Professionals Go Back To School” Booklet for Schools with:

 Information on how to prepare the visit  Suggestions for activities you can propose for the visit of the STEM professional  Pedagogical and training activities for teachers ( like the #STEMcareersMOOC )  Follow-up activities with the STEM professional and his/her company  Information on the evaluation of the activity

2) The Tool Don’t know where to find a STEM professional? Or you already have connections with STEM companies professionals? The STEM Alliance has developed a unique “STEM Professionals Go Back To School” Tool to:  Enables schools and companies to get in touch with each other  Promote the visit of the STEM professional  Function as a database to map all the new and existing collaborative relationships between schools and companies

3) Promotional Campaign How to promote the programme to teachers, student and other schools? The STEM Alliance provides you with assistance with Communication material:  Webinar for teachers to learn more about the “STEM Professionals go back to school” scheme to introduce the programme and explain the process  Material for online promotion through social media campaign to help peer communication  Dissemination during STEM Education events at EU level
