How to become a part of the

inGenious education & industry

Why? Demand for STEM professionals and associated professionals is expected to grow by around 8% between now and 2025. Europe needs more young people to pursue STEM subjects and careers to become a part of a much-needed qualified workforce for the success of the European economy. All industrial sectors need qualified STEM professionals to boost the pace of innovation, employment and productivity and consequently, Europe’s ability to compete globally. We need motivated, properly trained, well-equipped STEM teachers to prepare and inspire Europe’s next generation of researchers and industry professionals. Building upon the work of the inGenious platform, the STEM Alliance tackles those fundamental societal challenges through the support of industry partners and Ministries of Education across Europe.

What? Since its launch, STEM Alliance has reached more than 10,000 pupils and hundreds of teachers and companies from all over Europe. This has been achieved through a variety of activities that bring industry and education closer together around three main axes of activities (find out more in the STEM Alliance video):

Supporting Teachers and Industry: e.g. the Teacher Discovery Placement scheme; the STEM Professionals go Back to Schools scheme, and the STEM- π assessment tool to support companies to assess the potential impact of their STEM activities.

Communication and Outreach with European campaigns: STEM Discovery Week (24-30 April each year] and a Back to School Campaign (autumn) and highlevel events.

Who?

Scaling up through knowledge-building and collaboration: Activities to provide extensive, evidence-based analysis, on strategic STEM education issues: “STEM Alliance Knowledge Observatory of STEM Trends in Education” and advocacy to attract all industry sectors in the STEM Alliance and support national initiatives.

The STEM Alliance is coordinated by both European Schoolnet and CSR Europe. The STEM Alliance is supported by a core group of Premium partners and of general partners. The activities are accessible to as many partners as possible.
