EFP at the American Film Market 2013 Umbrella Office #863 for European sales agents and producers November 6-13, 2013 In 2013, EFP runs for the 15th time an umbrella office for European sales agents and producers at the American Film Market (AFM). Recognised as one of the most important international film markets, the AFM hosts yearly around 8000 film executives at its showcase in Santa Monica, California, each November. The AFM also organises top industry seminars and workshops which complement the screening of new films from around the globe. Acknowledged as an important meeting point for film professionals, EFP’s umbrella presence has made it possible for more than 180 small and medium-sized European companies to attend this prestigious event since 1998.

The Finnish Film Foundation is the main financier of the Finnish cinema. It was established in 1969 to promote and support Finnish film production, the distribution and exhibition of films, and Finnish film culture. Production support: The foundation's main aim is to support Finnish film production. Support is granted to Finnish producers for development, production and marketing of Finnish feature, documentary and short films or international co-productions. Finland participates in the EU Media Programme and Media Desk Finland operates under the auspices of the film foundation. Finland is also a member in the Nordisk Film&TV Fond and the Eurimages Fund. The Finnish Film Foundation also grants support to Finnish cinemas, film import of specific value, and theatrical, video and DVD distribution. International activities: The Finnish Film Foundation is responsible for the cultural export and promotion of Finnish films abroad. The Irish Film Board (IFB) is Ireland’s national development agency for the Irish film industry, supporting and promoting Irish films and creative talent along with promoting the use of Ireland as a location for international production. European Film Promotion – Initiatives in support of the European Industry European Film Promotion (EFP) is the only existing international network of organisations promoting and marketing European cinema worldwide. Founded in 1997, the EFP network now comprises 34 professional organisations from 35 European countries, who are experts in promoting and marketing their own national cinema. Under the EFP umbrella, all of these organisations work together on the promotion of European films and talent around the world. To this end, EFP devises, organises and carries out promotional activities and events on behalf of films, directors, producers, actors and other film professionals. EFP‘s activities are financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the EFP member organisations. EFP‘s promotion and PR activities are backed by private and public sponsors. The Hamburg-based office is supported by the German Minister of State for Culture and the Media (BKM) the Ministry of Culture of the City of Hamburg and the Film Fund 25 Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.
