S
ince 2011, Hong Kong’s well–established FILMART has been the host for European Film Promotion’s (EFP) European Pavilion – a pan-European umbrella booth for Europe’s sales companies and EFP member organisations. The FILMART works as an important hub for sales to Asian countries and is regarded as a bridge between the East and West, focusing on China as a main business partner. It is at the European Pavilion where Asia’s industry has the opportunity to get to know recent developments in feature films, documentaries, animation and children’s films from all over Europe. The European Pavilion offers services to 24 attending European sales agents this year who do business on behalf of European cinema. Thanks to the backing of Creative Europe MEDIA and the generous financial contribution of German Films, the Danish Film Institute and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, the European Pavilion was increased to 72 square meters this year with a designated area for German sales companies.

EFP‘s promotion and PR activities are backed by private and public sponsors. The Hamburg-based office is supported by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Hamburg.
