ALWAYS ON THE MOVE W

ith its 17th edition, PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE is back in Cannes with a group of 20 dynamic, ambitious, up-and-coming European producers. It’s a pleasure each year to welcome the newest members of our club (now comprising 361 producers from 36 countries) to the Croisette, where they have a unique opportunity to meet their peers and industry experts in an intensive four day programme geared to expanding their international experience and reach. And this year, among the mix, we are very proud to have films represented by current and former PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE in all sections of the festival, including Competition. From May 14 to 17, European Film Promotion (EFP) invites the producers to take part in project pitching, one-to-one meetings, case studies and several social events as part of the initiative. In addition, the producers benefit from extensive promotion through profiles in several of the major international trade papers. We’d like to recognize the contribution and on-going support of Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union, as well as to Eurimages, which allows us to bring this initiative to Cannes each year. We are thrilled to present such a talented group of European producers to the international industry and we wish them the best on this exciting leg of their creative journey. RODUCERS ON THE MOVE assists European producers in finding partners for their upcoming projects, to strengthen industry networking opportunities and to offer a platform where the producer’s potential can be recognised.

Sieranevada by Cristi Puiu, produced by Anca Puiu in co-production with Zdenka Gold (Croatia) and Labina Mitevska (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).

“After I met all the producers in Cannes, I was certain that I wanted to work with Labina because she has an excellent vibe! She has the energy and enthusiasm you need in the beginning, a “blind“ willingness to bring something to life… I was lucky to get Zdenka as well because she is always very prompt – another quality to look for in a co-producer! So, my experience with Producers On The Move at Cannes in 2013 was very good and more so: after three years of hard work together with Cristi and the other Bosnian and French co-producers, we are back here again selected to the Official Competition with our project Sieranevada!“

Anca Puiu, Romania, took part in PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE in 2013.
