Passion, Drive, Commitment Shooting Stars: Passion, drive, commitment – young voices brimming with exciting promise and pure talent. The ten actors selected as 2016 European Shooting Stars will delight and distract audiences for years to come. Of that, we are certain! And, as President of EFP, it gives me great pleasure to welcome them to the world stage of the Berlin International Film Festival. This extraordinary group of ten up-and-coming actors was selected by an international jury. While in Berlin, the actors take part in three days of events including a presentation to the press, one-on-one interviews with international Casting Directors and meetings with the film industry. The highlight is the presentation of the European Shooting Stars Award to the actors at the prestigious Berlinale Palast. Shooting Stars is entering its 19 th edition in 2016, and we have many people to thank for this long run. At the top of the list is Berlinale Festival Director, Dieter Kosslick, for his unwavering commitment to the initiative. Thanks go as well to Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Main Partner TESIRO and Co-Partner AUDI . Additional support is provided by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Film- und Medien Stiftung NRW and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. And last, but definitely not least, to my colleagues in EFP.
