Introducing ContraSpa by SpaFlo

One of the oldest researched natural water therapies, first outlined by Professor Sebastian Kneipp, contrast bathing is growing in popularity as people learn that it can support the immune system, aid muscle recovery, reduce fatigue and lactic acid build-up and reduce swelling.

Created by Richard Gowland (pictured right with Olympian Colin Jackson), founder of SpaFlo – known for its water walls – ContraSpa is a dual use, single-shell spa pool for hot and cold water therapy. The spa pool is based on a yin and yang design, separating the water while allowing easy access through integrated steps. The unit is made of UK-sourced sustainable commercial-grade steel, and lighting highlights the hot and cold areas. Controls are wi-fi and touchscreen-enabled.

“Health through water is at the heart of what we do at SpaFlo,” says Gowland, who launched SpaFlo in 2019 to create high-end stainless steel spa features. “I am delighted to launch the first ever single-shell, dual-use contrast therapy water

spa to market, to help spas offer the wide-ranging benefits of cold and hot water therapy.”

Suitable for indoor use, ContraSpa operates as low as 5˚C and as hot as 40˚C, and can be customised to individual specifications. Endorsed by Olympian Colin Jackson, who has used cold water therapy throughout his career, the new concept creates an opportunity for guests to immediately switch from cold to hot water.
